Spider-Girl gets heatstroke ft Wanda Maximoff and Natasha Romanoff
The sun bore down mercilessly on the city, amplifying the already stifling heat. Y/N Parker, also known as Spider-Girl, swung through the crowded urban landscape, her agile form navigating effortlessly between towering buildings. The snug superhero suit clung to her like a second skin, offering little reprieve from the oppressive warmth.
Wanda Maximoff, the Scarlet Witch, and Natasha Romanoff, the Black Widow, followed closely behind. The three made an unlikely but formidable team, each contributing their unique skills to the cause. Today's mission had brought them into the heart of the city, where the scorching heat seemed to amplify with every passing minute.
As they reached the rooftop where their target was supposed to be, Y/N's movements started to slow. The heat had become an almost tangible force, sapping her strength and leaving her feeling sluggish. Wanda exchanged a concerned look with Natasha, both recognizing the toll the weather was taking on their youngest teammate. Natasha was the first to say something about it over the comms.
Natasha - Kiddo, we need to take a break. It's too hot up here.
Y/N hesitated, her hand gripping the edge of the building for support.Â
Y/N - I'm fine!Â
Insisted the adolescent as her voice strained.
Wanda moved closer, placing a hand on Y/N's shoulder.
Wanda - You need to take care of yourself. This heat is dangerous. *frowns*
But Y/N, ever the stubborn teenager, shook her head.Â
Y/N - I can handle it. Let's finish this.
Natasha sighed, sharing a worried glance with Wanda. They pressed on, but it wasn't long before Y/N's movements became more laboured. Sweat dripped down her forehead, and her breaths were audible over the comms.
Wanda - We need to get her out of here.
The Scarlet Witch urged, her concern deepening.
Natasha grabbed Y/N's arm.Â
Natasha - Come on, baby. We're calling it a day.
Y/N resisted.Â
Y/N - No, I can't let themâ
Wanda cut in, her voice firm.Â
Wanda - Your health is more important. The mission can wait.
Reluctantly, Y/N allowed herself to be guided away from the edge of the building. The trio found a shaded spot, but Y/N was insistent on finishing the mission even if she was already swaying slightly.
Y/N - I just need a moment...Â
Natasha - You need more than a moment. You need water and rest. *crosses her arms*
Y/N's stubbornness flared, and she pushed herself up.Â
Y/N - I can't let them get away. I canâ
Her words were slurred, and her vision blurred. The next thing she knew, she was on her knees, the world spinning around her. Wanda and Natasha exchanged alarmed glances.
Wanda - Y/N!Â
Wanda cried out, rushing to her side.
Natasha activated her comm.Â
Natasha - We need an evac. Now.
Y/N tried to push herself up, but her limbs felt like lead. The last thing she heard before darkness claimed her was Wanda's worried voice calling her name.
______________________________________________________________
When Y/N opened her eyes, the world was a blur of white. She blinked, trying to make sense of her surroundings. The low hum of the quinjet's engines filled the air. She was lying on one of the benches, and her suit had been partially removed.
Y/N - Wanda? Natasha?
She croaked.
The two women appeared at her side, relief was evident in their eyes.Â
Natasha - You fainted detka, heatstroke.
Explained the Black Widow, her voice a mix of sternness and concern.
Y/N groaned, remembering the mission.Â
Y/N - Did we catch them?
Wanda smiled gently, brushing a strand of hair from Y/N's face.Â
Wanda - Yes, we did. But you scared us. You need to take better care of yourself, honey.
Y/N mumbled an apology, attempting to sit up. Natasha pressed her back down as she spoke firmly about their order.Â
Natasha - Rest, we'll be back at headquarters soon.
Wanda held a bottle of water to Y/N's lips, urging her to drink. The cool liquid was a balm for her parched throat. As Y/N sipped the water, Natasha began removing the rest of her suit to help her cool down.
Y/N - I can do that myself.Â
Protested the youngest weakly.Â
Wanda - You're in no condition to argue, my dear. *chuckles*
They worked efficiently, and the atmosphere was a mix of professionalism and genuine concern. Y/N couldn't help but feel grateful for the two women who had become her teammates and, in many ways, her surrogate family and mothers, in their own way.
Once out of the stifling suit, Y/N felt a wave of relief. The cool air of the quinjet was a welcome contrast to the oppressive heat outside. Wanda conjured a soft breeze, further easing Y/N's discomfort.
Natasha - You scared us back there, sweetheart.Â
Natasha admitted, her eyes intense.
Y/N - I'm sorry. I just wanted to finish the mission. *sighs*
Wanda placed a hand on Y/N's shoulder.Â
Wanda - There will always be another mission. But you only have one health and body for us to kiss, hug and give tickles. Don't jeopardize it for the sake of a mission. *tickles Y/N*
Y/N - Stopp- *giggling*
Natasha - Let her rest Wanda. It's okay lovebug *kisses forehead*
They lapsed into a comfortable silence, the hum of the quinjet providing a backdrop to their thoughts. Y/N closed her eyes, allowing herself to rest, knowing that she was in capable hands.
As the quinjet touched down at headquarters, Natasha and Wanda helped Y/N to her feet. She felt a little unsteady, but the support from her motherly teammates kept her upright.
Natasha - Promise us you'll take better care of yourself, babygirl.Â
Natasha said with her tone meaning business.
Y/N nodded, a genuine smile playing on her lips.Â
Y/N -Â I promise, moms.
Wanda grinned, a mischievous glint in her eyes.Â
Wanda - And if you don't, we might have to resort to more drastic measures.Â
Y/N - Like what? *raises an eyebrow*
Wanda and Natasha exchanged a knowing look before simultaneously saying:Â Mama bear's voice, the head-tilt and the raised eyebrow.
Y/N burst into laughter, the sound echoing through the quinjet. As they exited the aircraft, a trio of superheroes ready to face whatever challenges lay ahead, Y/N couldn't help but feel grateful for the bonds forged not just in battle but in the quiet moments of care and concern.

Chapter Four | Serie Masterlist | Chapter Six
------------
[Earth 717]
Silence was drowning out the entire complex. Wanda and Natasha didn't leave your bedroom; they spent almost all their time crying. Your aunts were not better. Kate tried to keep the team together while Yelena was pacing on the rooftop.
All the avengers were deadly silent. The only noises that could be heard came from Morgan's lab, where she was trying everything and checking the same data for god knows how long. After your moms and America came back, it was like time had stopped.
Tony was about to see his daughter when a portal in a wall caught his attention. Doctor Strange was finally back, and with him a little hope. It didn't take more than five to gather everyone in the meeting room, where Peter and America explained everything to the sorcerer.
Strange always told you to be careful around people who manipulate the time, and of course, usually, he would be a little angry that you took a big risk like that, but not today.
"How can I help you?" He asked.
"Actually, we don't know. We tried everything, but nothing seemed to work." America said.
The magician was intensely thinking before something came to his mind. "I think I have an idea. I can't promise that it will work, and if so, I don't know if it will help, but at least we will know if something bad happens to little Maximoff." Now every gaze was on him, wating for his idea. "But first we need to go somewhere else." He finished his sentence before opening a portal to Kamar-Taj.
The heroes were following him, a little unsure of what was on his mind. Once they reached a spacious place, he sat down.
"I'll need America, Wanda, and maybe Peter and little Stark." He said while he crossed his legs and waited for them to sit with him. Once everyone was ready, he started to explain his plan. "So, we know how much Y/n is usually connected with Wanda, and we also know that she's not in this universe anymore, which is why I need you," he said, referring to America.
"And why us?" Peter asked.
"You were among the last ones who were the Y/n when she disappeared, so you still have a fresh memory of her. I'll use my power to mentally teleport us back to the accident, and then with Wanda and Y/n's connection and America, we should be able to track her more efficaciously in the multiverse."
Everyone held their breath while a mix of orange and green auras started to cover the group. The memory of the incident started to play in front of everyone. They all looked at that until the moment. You were approaching Khrono after he pinned America against a wall. You lifted your knife, and when you were about to throw it, everything froze.
"Strange, something is wrong with America." Natasha said.
The brunette had her eyes totally shining, but not like when she used her power; it was different. It felt like she didn't control what she was doing. Wanda tried to reach her, but she could not do anything. The younger woman collapsed on the ground.
-------
[Earth 616]
Fury was leaving your room before seeing Maria Hill and Dr. Cho.
"Sir, you made two big discoveries; you need to see that." The doctor said and gave him an iPad while they made their way to his office.
"What is this?" The man asked.
"Scarlet's genetic code." Maria said while they entered the room. "Don't you see something strange?" she asked before showing the same thing on a big screen.
In front of the man's blank face, Cho started to talk. "I analyzed her DNA like you asked. I found two interesting things in her DNA. First the most obvious one," she typed on some bouton on the tablet, and two other genetics were now surrounding yours, "her DNA is the exact same as Wanda Maximoff and Natasha Romanoff. It's likeâŚ"
"It's like she's their biological mother." Fury said, and Maria nodded.
"But's that not the only weird thing; look at this," the doctor said before showing the genetic code of every Avenger. "Don't you see something different?" she asked him, and when he shook his head, she started again. "I don't know how to say that, it should be impossible, but there is no trace of any male DNA in hers."
"What do you mean?" the man asked, visibly curious and surprised.
"Usally, when two people decide to have a kid, there should be some trace of both genders DNA in their kid's DNA, whatever the gender." Maria said this time. "Even when a couple decides to go through IVF. But she doesn't. At first, we thought that her dad was someone who wasn't registered in the SHIELD or SWORD data base, but even if we compare with the international data bank, we have no match."
"It doesn't look special like that, but it's impossible even for us or any organization to do something like that. So we exclude Hydra and the Red Room from the list of potential places that she's from." Cho said.
"For a moment, we thought that she might be from another planet, but according to the data that Carol Danvers sent us, there is only one type of alien who can reproduce like that, but their DNA is closer to snail than human." Maria explained.
Fury was staring at the screen, totally unsure of what to say.
"Oh, and before we leave, I need to show you that." The doctor changed the screen. "This is a scan of Scarlet's power; at first, it's okay, but if we look closely, we can see some inconsistent gaps in her energy."
"Which means?" Maria asked this time.
"Two option. Option one, and maybe the most accurate, is that she's losing control over her power, which can explain why she almost kills Sam and the others while she seems totally non-aggressive toward them. And two, even if it's maybe the most crazy one, is that she may be slowly losing her power. The spider boy told me that he saw her falling from the sky just after a red aura around her disappeared." The doctor explained.
"Well, that's more than I imagined. Don't let anyone know about that. Not yet." Fury said, and the two women nodded before leaving the room.
~~~~
Peter was on his phone while a portal opened in his apartment. "Hey, America. What are you doing here?" He asked the young brunette.
"Peter, I think I just found something weird." She replied. "I was curious, so I traveled through the multiverse to find this girl; you know, to try to learn more about her. But there is my probleme I--" She couldn't finish before feeling a big headache.
"America!" Peter caught her before her body hit the floor. "Hey, America, wake up! What should I do? I can't go to see the avenger; I can'tâStrange, I need to call Doctor Strange." He picked up America's body and gently laid her on his couch before grabbing his phone.
~~~~
You were staring at the ceiling, trying to figure out what happened, before you heard the door open again. This time, you sat up immediately and stared at the woman in front of you.
"I bet you didn't see that coming, right?" Wanda said before taking a chair and sitting in front of your bed. She stayed like that, saying nothing, just analizing you. "They didn't lie when they said you looked like me and Natasha."
"What are you doing here?" You asked.
"I can ask you the same question." She shrugged. When you didn't talk, she said. "Actually, I saw your fight; you're pretty good, even if you still have some things to learn."
"What do you want?"
"Me, nothing. But you, what do you want, Scarlet?" She smirked. "That's a pretty good name, no? I love scarlet; it's the same color as our power. And even more crazy, it's sound like Scarlet Witch." Her expression suddenly became more dark, and she stared at you. "Now come on, tell me, who are you, Scarlet?"

HI! I want to say that I love you writing a lot, It's so goodđ.
I was wondering if you could write (is you don't want to it's fine) Natasha x Teen!daughter reader where reader goes on a mission with Steve, but she doesn't come back and everyone is doing everything to find her but it's like only a few days later that they find her injured. (you can choose what happened and where they find and rescue her) and can you do it as a reader insert (if you don't want to that's totally fine.)
Thank you :) keep up the good work!đ
Aw thank you!
I haven't posted in a while.
So Mama!Nat seems like a good reboot to start with.
"Hey, mom."
"What the hell were you thinking." Natasha growls at Steve before glancing at you.
"I wasn't." Steve starts, "I was unconscious. Y/n saved us. Me, really."
"That I did." Y/n is laying uncomfortably in the grass, her leg propped up. "Barely."
"Steve, I told you to keep her in your sights."
"I did-"
"He was, Mom!"
"Y/n, this isn't your mess." She turned back to scold Steve, but Y/n wasn't having it.
"Not my mess. I'm the one who cleaned the whole damn thing up!" Steve mumbled something with his head down as Natasha turned back toward her daughter. "I dragged Steve out. I cleared the building, I got the hard drive, I was the one who contacted you! Steve was out cold up until 10 hours ago!" Wishing she could stomp away right about now, Y/n huffed and worked on moving herself to a better position. Natasha was silent, tapped her shoe on the ground. Steve walked away.
"Bruce!" He went looking for the little green man.
"I'm sorry."
"For-"
"For forgetting you're not my 8 year old babygirl, who accidentally lit fireworks in the Compound, anymore." She lowered herself to meet Y/n. "You're now," She pulled your chin back towards her "my brave, ambitious and amazing young woman." Taking a glance at your swollen knee, she whispers, "I'm so proud of you."
"I tripped an alarm." You began, "Steve was sitting out in the hall and I thought," Steve and Bruce's footsteps could be heard.
"I thought I was gonna be attacked!" Y/n voice totally changes, leaving Natasha suspicious and Steve told Bruce to listen in. "I mean he was coming for me, Steve," She gestured to him "out in the wall and they gotten me and silly unconscious Steve cornered, quite easily actually." Natasha stared at Y/n trying to get the whole story. She couldn't find a reason. "I had him in choke hold-" Steve threw his hand in the air and Bruce took Steve over to a makeshift table to look "I just tripped." Y/n looked down at her stupid swollen knee.
"What?"
"We weren't cornered, I only had to take down maybe 3 guys. Be that was way before this. I thought I could be cool and do a flip off the wall. Try to at least, I was feeling it and I tripped as I ran to the wall."
"Thank god." Natasha closes her eyes in thanks.
"What? That I fell? Thanks mom. Love you too."
"Young lady, we both know you would have needed stitches if you tried that." Y/n huffed feeling defenseless.
"Whatever."
"So you tried to tell Steve a cooler story." She cocked an eyebrow.
"Tried? I did tell him a way cooler story. Now he thinks more of me! Goal Accomplished!" Y/n smiled, pumping a fist in the air.
"Oh. my. god. Your gonna have to tell him."
"Mom, no." You dreaded this.
"Y/n, yes!" She booped your nose. "You tell him or I do!" She said in a sing song voice. Y/n groans and stands with Natasha's help, wobbling back to the Quin jet.
"I hate Steve sometimes you know that. Why can't he just be oblivious? Mom pleeasse!"
"Okay baby, I'll tell him."
"No no. I will fine fine, you've convinced me. You're so mean." Y/n and Natasha continued to hobble along on the grass.
"Love you too." Natasha waves Steve and Bruce back and they all ride home together.

hi my baby <3 can you write something with bucky thatâs like âweâre mad at each other but still careâ or they have an argument and reader feels bad and tries to make it up to him, or something like that your writing is just so so so beautiful đ
đđđ đđŽđ đŹđđ˘đĽđĽ đđđŤđ
pairing: bucky x reader
warning: angst, fluff, drinking, mentions of roofie
a/n: hi my love, thank you so much for sending this in and thank you so much for your sweet kind words, i hope you enjoy this <33 i was in dire need of some fluff and angst today hahah đŚđđŹđđđŤđĽđ˘đŹđ
You rarely ever argued with Bucky, and if you ever did, he was too soft on you to say much. He would let you win every time, just wanting to see your beautiful smile again. He hated seeing you upset, and he couldn't stand it when you cried. Maybe that's why he's always been protective of you. However, after what happened last month, he had been a bit overprotective.
Somebody had spiked your drink at the club when you went there for a friend's birthday. Bucky was so scared when your friends called him to tell him what happened. They took you to the hospital because they didn't know what else to do. Thankfully, you were alright and nothing too bad happened, however, they never found the person who did that to you.
Ever since then, Bucky was extremely protective over you. Though at first you thought it was very sweet, I mean who wouldn't want their boyfriend to be protective over them and want to look after them. However, it was his overprotective tendencies that were starting to get to you. Bucky insisted on tagging along with you each time you wanted to go out with your friends for a girls night. You told him that it was supposed to be a girls night, and that it would be awkward with him there. He would quietly nod and eventually stop pestering you about it, but then you caught him sitting by the bar one time and found out that he would follow you guys there when you wouldn't let him come.
You knew why he was doing this. You knew how scared he was for you but you didn't appreciate being followed by him, and neither did your friends. You decided you would only go out with them for girls night when you knew Bucky would be too distracted with something else to keep an eye on you.
You called Steve this morning and asked him to pick up Bucky for a boys night out tonight, and he reluctantly agreed. Bucky was a bit suspicious when Steve and Sam showed up at your doorstep but you encouraged him to go. You lied and said you had a lot of work to catch up on and he would just get bored sitting at home with you.
Once he was out the door, Natasha came over and you both started to get ready together. An hour later, you were at one of your favourite clubs with Natasha, Wanda, and a few of your other friends. A couple drinks later, you decided the group needed some shots and you generously got up to get them from the bar. You called out for the bartender, who was too busy helping somebody else at the moment.
You turned around, leaning against the bar as you waited, looking out at the dance floor. You tried to look around for your friends, but instead you saw Bucky talking to Sam and Steve in one of the booths. You squinted your eyes to make sure it was really them, and that's when Bucky looked over at you at the same time. You quickly turned back around to face the bar but it took him less than a minute to walk over to you angrily through the crowd.
"What the fuck? You lied to me!" Bucky hissed, grabbing your arm to make you turn back around to look at him.
You groaned in response, sick of being treated like someone who couldn't take care of themselves. You couldn't take it anymore. You decided to ignore him and turned back around, finally getting the bartender's attention. You ordered four shots of vodka, while trying to ignore Bucky's presence.
"Actually, she'll just have water." Bucky hissed at the bartender, who looked back at you to make sure you weren't too intoxicated.
You rolled your eyes and asked him for the shots again, while reaching for your wallet from your purse. Bucky sighed as the bartender handed you the four shots, and took out his wallet to pay for them instead.
"Thank you for the drinks, Buck. Have a good night." You muttered putting your wallet back in your purse before bringing the shots back to your table. You carried two shots in each hand, and slammed them all down at the table.
You noticed it was only Natasha at the table right now, and the others were off dancing. You handed her one of the shots, which she downed easily. You took one shot, and nearly cringed before picking up the other two shot glasses.
Natasha watched in amusement as you took the other two shots down a row. Normally, she would try to stop you and convince you to ease up on the drinks. However, after the night you've had, she knew you needed this. She had watched Bucky approach you at the bar, and she knew it wasn't good.
"What did he say?" She smirked, as you slumped down in your seat.
"Nothing important." You rolled your eyes, and looked back over at the bar. Bucky was still standing there, looking back at you. His face was no longer filled with anger though. He looked sad, and a bit embarrassed, which made you feel even worse, "Ugh Nat, I think I was too mean to him. Fuck, look at him, it's like kicking a lost puppy. Let's just go home please."
You felt bad for the way you handled the situation but there was no way you were about to go apologize to him. You needed to have a talk with him, but definitely not while you were this drunk. It needed to happen when you were both sober and thinking straight. Natasha picked up her phone and texted Wanda that you two were heading out before calling an Uber for both of you. You took one last look at Bucky, watching him walk back over to Steve and Sam, before you headed out of the club with Natasha.
Once you were home, Natasha helped you inside and got you to drink some water before she got an Uber home for herself. You were still feeling drunk but also hungry at the same time. You walked over to the kitchen to look for a midnight snack, and opened the refrigerator door. You looked inside and noticed there was a tray of brownies sitting there with a little note on the side.
You took the brownies out and put them down on the counter before picking up the note to read it.
I made these so you wouldn't try to burn my kitchen down while trying to make yourself a snack :)
Don't work too hard, genius, I love you - Bucky <3
For some reason, you couldn't help but start crying at the note. You looked over at the brownies and started crying even harder. It was such a simple gesture but it let you know that everything was going to be okay. He wasn't trying to be controlling these past few months, he was only doing those things because he was worried about you. Instead of trying to talk to him, you spent all day trying to get rid of him. You nearly fell to the floor, covering your face with shaking hands as you sobbed loudly.
You knew his approach may have been wrong but if you had just tried talking to him instead of shutting him out or getting angry and arguing with him, then maybe things wouldn't be so bad right now. Maybe you could even tell him how scared you were this past month. How terrified you were when you woke up in the hospital that night and found out what happened to you. Maybe you could tell him you were only pretending to be brave for him, when really you were absolutely terrified.
In the middle of your breakdown, you didn't hear the front door open. Bucky walked in with Steve and Sam following behind him, trying to apologize for lying to him. However, when they heard you crying they all rushed over to the kitchen. Bucky ran in first and quickly picked you up off the floor, shushing your cries and gently stroking your back.
"It's okay, it's alright, I'm here," Bucky mumbled over and over again, "You're okay, it's okay."
Though Bucky was merely trying to comfort you, you started to cry harder at his soothing words. It had been a rough month, and you didn't want to push him away anymore. You just wanted to be in his arms.
Steve looked around the kitchen, trying to figure out if you were crying because you had gotten hurt in some way, while Sam reached grabbed a bottle of water and handed it to Bucky, who tried to get you to drink from it. You just shook your head and held him even tighter. Bucky looked at you, worry evident in his eyes, as he tried to figure out what was wrong.
When you looked up at him again though, Bucky just knew. He didn't know how but he knew you just needed him in that moment. Bucky quietly told Steve and Sam that they could leave before he carefully brought you over to the living room. Laying down with you on the couch, with you still in his arms, he muttered sweet nothings in your ear and watched over you as you eventually fell asleep.
Bucky knew you needed to talk about this, and soon you would but not tonight. Tonight was about you, and all he wanted to do was just hold you in his arms, and comfort you.
Everything was going to be okay, and he would make sure of it.

float around and ghost my friends
[title- phoebe bridgers. natasha romanoff x teen!reader, minimal platonic peter x reader]
2.5k words
You didnât have a normal childhood, but you mama encourages you to have a normal highschool experience and lets you go to a party. It doesnât quite go how she wanted, or how you expected.
trigger warnings: underage drinking + drinking to cope, suicidal ideation?, depression, itâs sad ngl but itâs got a hopeful ending (probably)
Living your life after a childhood of pain and misery is hard, it is so, so hard. You wonder if the man across the street is just a stranger or someone there to take you back, if the light flickering meant someone had found you, if the loud noise down the hall was a body against a wall. God, if you started thinking too hard about it you wouldnât stop.
Thank god high school would only make it worse!
Growing up as a Hydra lab rat they still had to keep you occupied, lest you go catatonic and ruin their tests. You saw plenty of shows and movies about high school, about how important the dance next saturday was, when everyoneâs classes were, the like. You understood, to an extent, that parties were a big deal. Parents went out of town, kids got shitfaced, snuck back into bed past âcurfew.â fun times.
Itâs been a little over a year since you were found by the Avangers, and just a few months since Natasha Romanoff finalized the adoption paperwork for you. Even if you couldnât call her mom as much as you wanted to you were happy, truly content for the first time in your life. You had friends, family, and a mother who wanted nothing more than for you to enjoy your new life.
Which is why, when peter had invited you to a party being put on by someone in his class, your mom urged you to go.
â
You havenât been sleeping much in the last few weeks. Insomnia and trauma-induced nightmares were taking their toll on you, but you could handle a bit of sleep deprivation. Besides, you werenât about to concern Natasha more, sheâs had enough on her plate lately.
No, no matter how long you stayed awake shaking, shivering, not breathing waiting for a sound in the hallway, you wouldnât bother Natasha. Though, that didnât stop you from being a bit more clingy during the day before calling it a night.
âItâs an opportunity for you to have fun outside the tower, Đ´ĐľŃка, you should go.â You sat cross-legged on Natashaâs bed, watching as she put away laundry. It was calming. âIâm only a call away if you and Peter wanna ditch, but I want you to enjoy yourself.â
Her encouragement throws you off. âYou know what happens at those parties though, donât you?â You shift so youâre laying down against the pillows, âShouldnât you be making me stay home?â
Natasha laughs. âHon, highschool parties arenât nearly as crazy as movies make them out to be, and i know you. Itâs not like youâre going to get wasted or make out with any boys.â You pull a face and Natasha laughs again, and you laugh with her.
âYou donât have to go if you donât want to,â She presses a kiss to your forehead and you smile up at her.
âIâll go.â
â
Youâre already regretting it, and youâve only been in the house for 20 minutes. Peter donât ditch you per se, but you havenât seen him since you settled on the couch. The music pulses through the floor and you can feel the bass in your teeth. Youâre pressed in at the far end of the couch hugging the armrest, clutching a soda can in one hand and hovering over Natashaâs contact in you phone with the other. A bark of laughter from the kitchen throws you out of your thoughts and you notice someone pouring out shots. somewhere in the back of your mind you wonder when the last time you had a drink was, to which your brain unhelpfully answers âtoo long.â
Aside from anesthesia, the best pain relief you had in your old life was alcohol. You understood that it wasnât healthy, even back then you knew that, but it kept your thoughts from racing and helped you sleep at night.
A small crowd was formed around the kitchen counter, and you watch as two boys get locked into a fierce competition of Cup Pong.
You watch one of them, a lean, blonde boy from the soccer team, fading fast. only two of his cups have been emptied, heâs clearly a lightweight and already wobbling by his third shot. The other boy is one you recognize from your history class. heâs loud, obnoxious, and goading on the other boy whoâs finally thrown the ping pong ball properly and landed it in a cup.
The loud one sinks in another two balls, and you see the blond visibly swallow. you donât know what comes over you because in the next moment, you down his two shots in one go.
âWoah-hoh-hoh! looks like someoneâs up to the challenge!â His face breaks into a shit eating grin, âToo bad you picked a battle with the undefeated champ here.â you hear a few whistles in the growing crowd and smirk, You can feel the buzz hitting your head and it feels good, you feel good for the first time in days.
âUndefeated, huh? Well, this is gonna be really embarrassing for you then.â Youâre cocky, but you donât care, you just wanna get drunk.
He quickly bounces another ball, landing in your forward cup, the second misses. Your two land and itâs a battle keeping your face straight. Your opponent is intimidated, but he hides it behind a grin and his height, but heâs too obvious. You know heâll hit his limit far sooner than youâll hit yours, so you tease him a bit.
To throw him off, you miss your next two throws, and his second lands. as soon as the cup is empty you begin to sway. youâre in no drunken state, thereâs barely a buzz at this point, but he doesnât know that. As far as he knows, youâre just as much of a lightweight as the blond before you.
Heâs hiding his own swaying body by leaning forward on the counter, but you can see in his eyes heâs getting drunk, and thanks to the alcohol of choice being vodka, it wonât be much longer before heâs out. You were hoping for a bit more fun, but his head start in the is game threw that off a bit. You strike fast. Two balls, two cups, one throw, itâs impressive to the crowd but for you itâs childâs play. He down the cups, slower than before, and you can see sweat forming on his forehead.
He misses his next throw and you canât stop yourself from being a bit disappointed. then again, you only have one cup left versus his, you huff a laugh.
âI mean, itâs a little unfair of me to be beating you. You had a head start in the game, why donât we level it out?â
The crowd is rowdy and you see his face twist into a grimace. Heâs getting agitated while youâre loosening up, happily putting on a show for everyone around you.
You pour yourself two more shots and take the one after the other. You revel in the burn, you feel lighter, higher, ready to put this stupid kid in his place.
â
You win that game, you win two more games, and everything becomes a blur. You think your phone buzzes a few times through the night but you ignore it in favor of pouring yourself another drink and laughing your ass off. Itâs the first time youâve ever felt normal, and even if you donât know anyoneâs names theyâre funny enough, and you can forget about the past for the night.
Youâre not noticeable in school, you hide yourself in the back of the class and only talk to peter and his friends. Youâre allowed to leave class whenever you need to thanks to a plan youâre mom had set up with the school, so itâs not like you usually stick around enough to talk to anyone. Youâre just some new kid lost in the crowd there, but now, here, people are talking to your face instead of whispering behind your back and avoiding eye contact. you finally feel free.
You get up and unsteadily return to the kitchen for another shitty bear. You look over your shoulder and throw your hands out. âPeter!!â you shout, ending in a giggle when you see his face, heâs looking at you funny. âhiiiii!!â
âAre you drunk??â Oh never mind, he sounds mad.
âNooo?â You giggle again, he doesnât believe you but you donât really care.
Peter rubs his hand down his face and starts to guide you to the door.
âWhereâre we going i was having funnnn,â You whine, pushing against his insistence you leave.
â(Y/n) i already called natasha, now drink this and sit tight.â Heâs frustrated and hands you a water bottle, you pout and plop onto the grass, lazily sipping at the bottle.
Youâre not sure how much later it happens, but Natashaâs car pulls up on the curb. She steps out and she looks pissed, if you had any energy left youâd probably be scared. âHi ПаПа,â even drunk and half asleep you still know you sound like a pathetic mess, and right now you really just want to catch up on all the sleep youâve missed.
She kneels down next to you on the grass and moves your sweaty hair from your forehead, you notice her face soften. âHi ПаНŃŃка, letâs get you home.â
âAre you mad at me?â You blurt out. Your voice is small, and you donât mean to sound so weak but the alcohol in your system makes you feel vulnerable. âI donâ want you to be mad at me i was jusâ so tired.â
âNo hun, iâm not mad. Weâll talk in the morning when youâve sobered up, now up you get.â
If you werenât so out of it you wouldâve seen the heartbreak cross her face.
She hoists you up with your arm over her shoulder, and youâre grateful for it because without her youâd have fallen face first into the dirt.
You hear her ask Peter to open the door, and as soon as youâre in the car youâre out like a light.
â
Anyone could tell from a mile away that Natasha loved you. Since the day you were found sheâd always cared and wanted the best for you. You were the child sheâd always wanted, and sheâd do anything for you. And anyone could tell that seeing her kid so small, so sad, was breaking her heart.
Peterâs phone call had been confusing, something about you getting too competitive to think straight and then too drunk to stand. Sheâd shown up expecting a slightly drunk teenager, not you. Not you sitting in the grass, on the curb, nursing a water bottle and looking so utterly defeated. She didnât know what to do, she just wanted to take all your pain away.
Getting you home was the easy part. Apparently, getting you out of the party had also sucked all of your energy, and you were cooperative getting in the car, hell you were asleep as soon as the door shut. Natasha dropped Peter off at home before returning to the tower, after getting some context to the situation of course. Now it was time to get you to bed, and figure out her next steps.
â
âMmmn?â You can barely open your eyes, everything just feels so heavy and faraway. Behind squinted eyes you recognize that itâs Natasha pulling you from the car.
âCome on sweetheart, letâs get you to bed.â
Your short nap didnât help you much. ââM tired,â You croak out, cringing at the taste of your dry mouth.
âI know you are bub,â She pull one of your arms over her shoulders and leads you through the towerâs garage to the elevator. âThatâs why weâre gonna get you cleaned up in into bed.â
Your response isnât more than an affirmative grunt, but you can get the words past your throat.
Eventually, after a blur of motion and lights and almost getting sick on the way up, youâre in your room. You donât want to be in here.
Natasha guides you to your bed, keeping you steady as you sit down. Before she can pull away your hands grip her shoulders like a vice.
You donât even realize youâre crying. âDonâ- ĐаПа donât leave. Please donât leave.â You donât want to be alone. You just want to sleep but you canât sleep because when you sleep your mind attacks and attacks and attacks and you canât keep dealing with this forever youâre so tired.
âHey hey, no iâm not going anywhere Đ´ĐľŃка. Im not leaving, but i need you to breathe, please.â You canât stop yourself from closing your eyes. You hate the way sheâs looking at you, she looks so sad and youâre the one doing this. God look at you, look how pathetic youâve become.
âI ju- I just wanted everything to stop. i wanted to be normal in sorry. iâm sorry ПаПа iâm sorry iâm just tired iâm sorry.â The words get caught in your throat and choked out in a sob. You try to pull back, hide in you pillows and shut out everything, but natashaâs returned grip is solid and fierce, yet gentle, and kind, and she pulls you into her chest as you fight every cry that bubbles up.
âLet it out ПаНŃŃка, donât fight it. Itâs okay, iâve got you. Iâve got you, love.â Her hold on you grows tighter and you can almost feel your chest open just from her words. No matter how much you were taught and built against it from birth, Natasha was your lifeline.
Minutes or hours later, youâre cries turn to whimper and the bone-deep exhaustion makes itself known again. Your arms feel so heavy, you can barely keep your puffy eyes open and you just want to sleep for the next month.
âHey,â Natasha says it so softly sheâs worried youâll miss it, but she doesnât want to startle you. âLetâs get you changed. Iâm just gonna grab you some pajamas, okay?â
You mustâve nodded, because natasha moves and you faintly hear your dresser draws move. Youâre half asleep as natasha helps you change into comfier clothes, youâre eyes arenât even open once sheâs tucked you and herself into bed and holds your head to her chest.
âI love you so, so much ПаНŃŃка. Got to sleep, okay? Iâve got you. Iâve got you.â
Your answer is a whisper âI love you, ПаПа.â
Youâre out like a light, you limbs heavy and mind blissfully quiet. Natasha hardly sleeps, thinking only about you and the conversation you need to have.

Burning chill
Pairings: Natasha X Sick!Reader, Natasha X Child!Reader, hints of WandaNat
Warnings: Mentions of the Red Room, nothing too specific, but reader is definitely traumatized
Summary: Taking care of a sick kid was already hard enough, but when a fever brings to surface your traumas, Natasha is going to need some help to get you to lay down
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
To say that Natasha was a little worried about you would be an understatement. She was really worried about you.
You were the youngest widow on training when Nat and Yelena took the red room down one year ago. Now you were already 7 years old and a lot less traumatized than when they took you to the avengers compound. It took a lot for you to unlearn all the bad things that Dreykov implemented on your head, including the way he made Natasha seem like a traitor. Now you loved her like she was your mother and she loved you back.
At first, the avengers didnât want a kid living in the compound. They thought it was too dangerous, however you were highly intelligent and skilled, so you started your avengers training. You still werenât allowed to go on the field with the adults but you did almost everything like they did.
On your last training, Steve took the whole team to a frozen lake to test everyone combat skills in a snowy area. Everything would have turned out alright if Bruce didnât Hulked out and broke the ice on the lake, prompting you to fall down on the freezing water.
Now, you were here, with the worst cold ever and a high fever that wouldnât break. Natasha was on bed with you, by your side the whole time and the way you were shivering besides her broke her heart.
A series of deep, chesty coughs made you wake up, glassy look on your eyes as you sat up, staring at the void.
âY/N? how are you feeling malyshka?â Nat asked, closing her book to give you a proper look.
Your lack of answering made Nat press her hand to your forehead, confirming her worries, your fever had probably risen.
âYouâre burning up, I need to take your temperatureâ she said, while getting up to get your thermometer.
As she re entered the room, you had gotten up and were currently walking in circles on the bed.
âIâm glad you got some energy left, but please sit down for a moment.â The redhead said, suppressing a chuckle
You did as you were told and Nat placed the thermometer under your tongue. Because of your previous âexerciseâ you were shivering more obviously now.
âTry and stay still, baby.â
The device beeped and gave her the verdict.
â39.7, thatâs too high for you detka, iâm gonna have to give you a shower.â
âT-too cold!â you said, trying to get inside Natâs hoodie
âGet outta there! youâre too warm!â She said while giggling about your silliness.
Pushing your head out of her clothes, you locked eyes with her and immediately started crying and flinching away from her.
âY/N? Whatâs wrong? are you hurt?â she asked, panicking.
âGET AWAY FROM ME! YOUâRE MY OPPONENT!â You yelled, trying to free yourself from her grasp.
Oh, your memories from the red room must had returned in your feverish state, and the black widow hated to see you in pain. And it really hurt her to remember about the way you saw her before.
âBaby, youâre delirious, youâll feel better if you go and lie down.â Nat tried to coax you out of that state, still holding you firmly so you wouldnât get hurt.
Still, you managed to get away from her hold and opened the door, ready to run through the compound.
And you would be successful, if Wanda werenât passing by.
âY/N! Are you okay?â The witch took a firm hold of you, picking you up.
âLET ME GO!â you yelled, your voice getting hoarse both from all the yelling and from your cold.
âWanda! sheâs delirious and wont calm downâ Natasha said desperately.
Wanda understood and with a swift of her hands, she managed to put you to sleep, adjusting your body so you were being carried in a bridal position by her.
âThank you so much, she could have gotten hurt without youâ
âDonât mention it, sheâs really warm, I think we should put her back in bed.â
When they tucked you in, Wanda glanced at Natasha, she looked exhausted and shaken by your outburst.
âHey, what about I put you to sleep too? you look like you need some rest.â Wanda said tenderly.
âThanks Wands, but I really should stay awake in case she needs meâ
âLetâs do it like this, you try and get some sleep, and Iâll stay right here looking over the both of you.â
âAre you sure?â
âAbsolutelyâ
Tucking Natasha in, the witch gave a kiss on her temple, lulling her to a much needed rest, and walked over so she could lay down on the other side of the bed, having you in the middle of both women.
âSleep well, angels, iâm gonna take care of you.â
Summary: Some bullies take teasing a step too far.
Warnings: Stereotypical bullies, anger issues, bottling up emotions, violence
Notes: Papa/Pa= Steve, Dad/Dada = Bucky. No pairing. Reader is Steve and Bucky's adopted daughter. Prequel here!
Gn!reader
Word count: 1,364
Age 1-5
When you were born, 1939, Hydra got you. You underwent four years of experiments that gave you the gift of prophecy and enhanced physical strength. Random visions of the future came to you once or twice a week, but they were heralded by you losing consciousness.
Four years later, a group led by Captain America took down the lab you were being kept in. You formed a close father-daughter bond with the men who rescued you, James âBuckyâ Barnes and Steve Rogers. For two years you stayed with them as they continued fighting against the Axis Powers and formed the Howling Commandos.
It was then discovered that you had a severe heart defect. If left untreated, it would most likely kill you. On December 26th 1944, they placed you in a specially made freezing chamber in the hopes that future medical advances would make your condition treatable. While you were frozen, you still received visions.
Age 6
Decades later, you were unfrozen. You were technically in your 60âs, but by all accounts still a six-year-old. You lived with your adoptive Papa Steve, who ensured you got the medical treatments needed, and had a relatively normal childhood despite the out of the ordinary first six years. He told you that your Dad Bucky was gone, which you didnât fully believe.
âBut I saw him!â You protested.
âI know,â Steve replied, âWe used to see him every day. Now we wonât get to see him again.â
âNo!â You shouted, âI saw him doing things he hasnât done yet!â
âY/n/n,â Steve shushed, âThis is a hard thing for both of us. Please stop trying to give me hope. Heâs gone. Thatâs the end of it.â
When both of you had calmed down, Steve pulled out a little box.
âKid?â He got your attention, âDo you remember what these are?â
âYeah. Theyâre his dog tags.â
âDo you want to keep them?â He asked. You nodded in reply, and put them on. From that day forward you rarely took off your Dadâs tags.
Age 8
At school, you kept your head down, four formative years in a strict evil lab will make you very keen to follow the rules and not be noticed. Your increased strength made you afraid you would hurt someone, so you never fought back. Because of this, bullies targeted you. They were a few years older, and notorious all throughout your middle school.
One day they went a step too far by yanking your Dadâs dog tags right off your neck. The main guy, Kennith Reid, tossed them to Tyler, who tossed them to another boy. They went around and around the circle.
âGive them back.â You said evenly.
âWhatâre you gonna do?â Tyler asked, âCry to your Papa? Who did you say he was, Captain America? I donât believe it. I think you lied.â
âNo.â
âTyler,â Kennith said, catching the dog tags, âWhat do you think theyâd do if we started breaking up this little chain?âÂ
âDonât.â
âOh Kennie, are they getting mad?â
âI think so, T.â Kennith said, and he broke off a few inches of the chain. You stood up, and started to take off your hoodie.
âWhy are you taking off your stupid frog hoodie?â Tyler jeered.
âI donât want to get your blood on it.â Removing your hoodie revealed how much that Hydra had influenced you. Muscles far beyond what any teenager had, much less an eight-year-old like yourself.Â
Wordlessly, you swung at him. It connected, hard. His nose splintered and he fell to the ground. Kennithâs pals had a split second of panic, as the blood drained from their faces in fear, but you didnât stop. You went after every single one of them, being very careful not to injure them too badly. Kennithâs nose was the worst one.
He was the ringleader, so he deserved it.Â
A few moments later, they were all sufficiently beaten up, you took back your Dadâs dog tags, and knelt down next to them.
âYouâre never going to pick on anyone again, understood?â
âYe - yeah,â He hastily said, âGot it. Mhm. 100%. We wonât bully you.â
âNo. You wonât bully anyone. Not me. Not Jess, not Caroline, not Xavier. None of us. Are we clear?â
âCrystal.â
Obviously, parents were called. Your Papa was probably off on some mission, although he said heâd be back today. It didnât matter. If he wasnât available Auntie Nat would step in. You sat on one side of the table, waiting for someone to join you. Your new principal, who had recently replaced a beloved one, sat across from you. Her name was Ms. Katz.
"Y/n,â Your principal said after waiting for ten minutes, âDo you know your motherâs phone number?â
âWith all due respect, Ms. Katz,â you said, âSheâs dead.â
âOh,â She inhaled, âI see.â
âMy aunt should be joining us soon.â Right on cue Ms. Romanoff waltzed in.
âThank you for waiting,â she began, âI came as soon as I could.â
âNo problem, thank you for joining us.â Ms. Katz said, âYou are here because Y/n has exhibited some concerning behavior. They repeatedly hit their peers, resulting in one receiving a broken nose.â
âThat doesnât sound like them. Have you asked Y/n why they did it?â Nat asked.
âThis school has a Zero-Tolerance Policy for physical violence or bullying of any sort, no matter the reason.â Ms. Katz replied, âSo we didnât need to ask.â
âThat sounds like a recipe for more violence.â Nat said.
âWeâre not here to debate policy.â Ms. Katz said, âY/n will be receiving a two week suspension, and Iâm afraid this will go on their permanent record.âÂ
âOh no.â Was your deadpan response. âCanât let anyone know I retaliated when provoked. Woe is me.âÂ
Nat flashed you a proud smile, and continued.
âY/n, I havenât yet gotten to hear your perspective. I think thereâs a little more to it than simply whacking a kid.â
âI donât believe thatâs a good use of our time togeth-â Ms. Katz began, and was shortly cut off.
âNo,â Nat said, âLet them talk. I need to know what happened before I decide what to do.â
âI just want you to know weâre not reconsidering the suspension.â
âFine by me. Continue, Y/n.â
âThey snagged Dadâs dog tags off my neck. I told them to give them back. They didnât. This was the final straw. For the past two years Iâve endured their teasing, and so have countless others. I didnât beat them up just to get the tags back, I did it to win this fight, and the next ones too. Now theyâll leave me alone, and the others, too.â
âMs. Katz,â Nat turned to your principal, âI would just like to thank you. Y/n and I will enjoy these next two weeks off. I want you to know that they will be receiving no punishment at home.â
The intercom on Ms. Katzâs desk buzzed.
âThereâs someone here to see y-â
âTell them to wait.â She cut them off, âVery well then. I also wanted to address their chronic lying.â
âTell me more.â
âY/n insists their family is full of superheroes and spies.â She pulled out a drawing, âHere, they even drew this when we were supposed to be making family portraits.â The drawing was of you, Auntie Nat, your Dad, your Papa, Uncles Tony, Thor, Bruce, and Clint, the whole crew. After a pause, Auntie Nat nodded.
âThis is just about right.â She smiled, âMy hair used to be wavy, if thatâs what youâre concerned about.â
âNo,â Ms. Katz sighed, âY/n insists they live with the Avengers! Donât you see? They string up wild stories about fighting Nazis and being frozen in a time capsule!â
âTheyâre true.â Natâs phone buzzed. âAnd I can prove it. Tell your receptionist to let in the other visitor.â
Ms. Katz complied, the door opened, and Steve walked in. She stared agape for a moment, before regaining composure.
âThat⌠That will be all, thank you.â
âHave you been reading Enderâs Game again?â Auntie Nat asked on the ride back to Steveâs apartment.
âMaybeâŚâ You grinned, âOkay yeah.â
âThought so, that speech sounded a bit familiar.â
Chapter Summary: Kimberly Kingston, a social services worker, is determined to have a meeting with Trevor Gray. Instead, she meets his sarcastic ten-year-old niece.
Chapter Warnings: Hints of child abuse.
Notes: Hey there! This is my first chapter of a new series following Natasha Romanoff accidentally becoming the guardian of a sarcastic but endearing 10 year old girl. Formatting might be off as Iâm not used to Tumblr. Please let me know what you think!! Happy reading! Chapter 2 will come Thursday at 5PM PST.
Thawing the Widow Masterlist
.*.*.*.*.*.*.*.*.**.*.*.*.*.*.*.*.*.*.*.*.*.
November - Trevorâs Apartment
Ding-dong. Ding-dong.
Kimberly Kingston rang the doorbell for the third time.
âMr. Gray! I know youâre in there! Open up, please!â
She was dressed sharply, in a navy blazer and matching slacks. Her tidy appearance was a stark contrast to the rickety old apartment, which was in ruins. The walls were peeling and stained, the carpet was shaggy, and it smelled strongly of smoke. On the way up, sheâd passed several drunks. Throughout these five visits, she had added several notes to her official-looking clipboard.
Kimberly rapped on the door three times impatiently, tapping her foot. She was not usually an impatient woman, but she had visited the apartment three times, each time with no success in meeting Mr. Gray. He had sounded agreeable on the phone, but proved to be frustrating and unreliable. The first time, she had waited twenty minutes before getting an answer. Mr. Gray had called and said that heâd been out of town. The second time, his excuse was that heâd forgotten he had a poker game. The third time, he had simply locked the door and refused to answer until she left.
This time, he wasnât getting away with it.
Trevor Gray had been made the legal guardian of his niece, Catalina, six months prior.
The girlâs parents had died in a gruesome car crash when she had been only eight. Sheâd initially been placed in the foster system, cycling through a variety of different families before they located her distant uncle, Trevor Gray, who agreed to take her in. Mr. Gray lived in New York, a drastically different environment than California, where the girl had previously lived with her parents.
Poor girl, Kimberly had thought. Sheâd gone through so much.
The first few months, social services had paid them a few visits to see how she was settling in, and each visit had raised no suspicion. However, a few months later, a concerned neighbor called in, suspecting domestic violence. The kind old lady who lived a room away had told Kimberly that she frequently heard shouting coming from Mr. Grayâs residence, accompanied by sounds of violence. After a quick round of interviews, this story was confirmed by a handful of neighbors around the area.
Catalina Grayâs teachers at school had told Kimberly she was clearly an intelligent student, but didnât try in classes. She frequently got into fights at school, which was troubling. One teacher had reported seeing bruises on the girl in class, but when questioned, the girl had refused to explain why.
âMr. Gray!â
Kimberly raised her hand to knock again but was halted by the door aggressively swinging open.
Kimberly, who had been expecting a malicious older man, was surprised to see a young, fair-haired girl standing in the doorway, nursing a mug of coffee that dwarfed her hand. The girl had wide, innocent brown eyes and soft features, reminding Kimberly of an angel.
Then the girl scowled at her. âJesus, lady, could you be any louder?â
The visual of an angel immediately dissipated. The girl looked like sheâd just gotten out of bedâ messy hair, drooping eyes, wearing only a tank top and flannel pajama bottoms. With the coffee, the annoyance in her voice, and the bedragged appearance, she looked startlingly adult and not at all like a ten year old girl. Kimberly could only blink, momentarily wordless.
She quickly gathered herself, giving her a friendly smile. âHello! I apologize for the noise. You must be Catalina.â
âUh-huh.â The girl leaned against the doorframe, looking decidedly unimpressed. âWhoâre you?â
âMy name is Kimberly Kingston. Iâm a social services worker.â
âUh-huh. And you wanna speak to Trevor?â
The girl called her uncle by his first name. As inconspicuous as she could, Kimberly made a note on her notepad. âYes, Iâd like to ask your uncle some questions. Is he home?â
âSure is. If you wanna talk to him youâd better wait till noon. He passed out drunk about twelve hours ago, dead as a rock. I think thatâs the saying, anyway.â
Kimberly frowned and made another note.
The girl took a long drag from her coffee and made a face, which Kimberly mightâve found amusing, had she not been so dumbfounded.
âI suppose I should invite you in,â Catalina said after a while. She stepped further inside, looking at her expectantly.
âOh!â Kimberly peered inside, noticing Trevor Gray, who was indeed passed out on the couch, beer in hand. âAre you sure your uncle wouldnât mind?â
Catalina made her way to the couch. She waved a hand in front of his face. Her expression was unreadable as she glanced up.
âLike I said, dead as a rock.â
Kimberly stepped inside the apartment, briefly wondering if she was following protocol by doing so. She took it as an opportunity to observe the apartment. It was in worse shape than the outside. There were dirty dishes piled on every surface, old clothes strewn across the floors. Kimberly took note that Mr. Gray smoked. There was a pile of cigarettes sitting in an ashtray. Empty beer bottles littered the corners and the table.
The girl was watching her like a hawk. Her eyes, so dark and strangely intelligent, were following her as Kimberly paused by certain objects and scribbled in her clipboard. She had finished her mug of coffee and had set it in the sink.
âWhy are you taking so many notes?â
âIâm just jotting down some observations. It helps me remember.â
âYou want some coffee?â
âNo, thank you.â
âWhat about cereal? We have Fruity Pebbles. Well, theyâre actually the cheap ripoff version. âFruity Crispsâ. Tastes the same, though.â
Kimberly smiled. She was reminded of her sisterâs kid, who also tended to jump from question to question with no transition. âIâve already had breakfast, thanks.â
Catalina shrugged and yanked open the fridge. Kimberly glanced at the contents inside and noted that it was nearly empty. It was mainly composed of cans of beer, takeout, and energy drinks. There was no milk.
The girl seemed to come to this conclusion as well. She glanced up, surveying the kitchen. Her gaze drew Kimberlyâs to an empty gallon of milk, sitting by the TV.
âLooks like weâre out of milk, too. Bummer.â Catalina looked at Kimberly seriously. âBy the way, you should never use water instead of milk in your cereal.â
âIâll keep that in mind.â
Kimberly watched her shake the cereal from the box into a relatively clean bowl. The girl was oddly graceful, having none of the careless clumsiness that kids around her age had. She grabbed a spoon and plopped down at the kitchen table, clearing it from scattered Bud Light cans.
Catalina sighed. âAre you just gonna stand there or what?â
âExcuse me?â
âYou said youâre a social worker. Social workers ask questions. So, go on. I know you wanna.â
âWell, all right.â Kimberly suppressed a smile. She took a seat across from her. âCatalinaââ
âI go by Cat. Catalinaâs stupid.â
âOkay, Cat. How do you like living here?â
The girl shoved cereal in her mouth like she hadnât eaten in years. âSâalright,â she said around a mouthful of Fruity Pebbles. âSchool sucks.â
âHow so?â
âAll the kids hate me âcause Iâm a Know-It-All, which is fine because most of them are dimwitted little jerks that I donât wanna be friends with anyway. All the teachers hate me because of that one time I punched that little guy Moose. Ironic name, huh? Yeah, so I was likeâ pow! Right in the nose! He cried like a baby, of course, but no one ever blames the little guy, even when theyâre the ones starting it. Oh yeah, so the principal hates me because I keep doing stuff like that, and then he has to fill out more paperwork. The only person who doesnât hate me is the janitor...â
She suddenly looked down to where Kimberly was scribbling furiously. She caught a glimpse of the words on the page.
âYou spelled âtroublesomeâ wrong. Thanks, by the way. I love being analyzed by random people Iâve just met.â
Kimberly quickly pulled the clipboard up from the table, away from view. âOh, I wasnât talking about you, sweetheart. I was just describing the situation youâre in as âtroublesome.ââ
Cat didnât look convinced. âUh-huh.â
âI can see youâre a very intelligent girl, Cat. Sometimes intelligent children need an outlet for their creativity.â
âThatâs a nice way of saying âYouâre a freak.â" Cat paused. âSorry. Was that mean? Sometimes I say mean things. I have ADHD. Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder. Sometimes I start talking and I just canât stop. Thatâs why youâve gotta stop me sometimes, when Iâm talking. âCause I just go on and on and on. See, Iâm doing it again.â
Kimberly nodded. This conversation was getting off-topic. She searched for a way to get back to talking about Trevor Gray. âDoes your uncle give you medication for your ADHD?â
âNo.â Catâs eyebrow wrinkled. âItâs not like itâs a disease, right? Do I need pills or something?â
âNo, you certainly donât. Does your uncle ever drink?â
Cat laughed like this was the most hilarious thing in the world.
âOkay, obviously he drinks. What does he usually drink?â
âMostly beer. Bud Light, Budweiser, Natural Light. He keeps the hard stuff in there.â Cat nodded to the cupboard above the stove. âRum, tequila, the goods.â
Her questions were becoming a lot less subtle. Cat seemed almost pleased to unveil the truth about Trevor Grayâs horrid parenting, so Kimberly pressed on. âHow often does he get drunk?â
âHeâs only sober fifty percent of the time. Iâd hate to see his liver.â
âHave you ever been scared of him when heâs drunk?â
Cat froze. Her hands, which had been fiddling with her spoon, went still. She glared at Kimberly like sheâd just been insulted. âIâm not scared of anything.â
âOkay.â
âYou donât believe me?â
âI believe you,â Kimberly said steadily. She was looking at Catâs eyes, which had turned from playful to defensive.
âOkay, good.â
âHas your uncle ever harmed you intentionally?â
Cat chewed her cereal slowly. Kimberly watched her closely, aware that sheâd hit a nerve. âNo,â she said calmly.
âReally?â
âReally,â Cat snapped, voice hard. âBack off, okay?â Her voice softened, and her eyes grew regretful. âSorry. I was being mean again.â
âItâs okay. Really.â
Kimberly was suddenly struck by how much Cat looked like her sisterâs kid. Justin had the same guilty look on his face after he knew heâd done something wrong. It shouldnât have been surprising because the two were about the same age. But Catâs way of talking and acting had been much closer to an adultâs than a kidâs. For a few minutes, Kimberly had forgotten she was talking to a girl who was decades younger than she was.
She could tell Catâs walls were up from the last two questions. She was scraping the bottom of the cereal bowl, not making eye contact. Kimberly took this as a cue to stop. She grabbed her clipboard.
âOkay, I think weâre done here.â
She started to stand up, but Cat stopped her.
âWait.â
She was staring at Kimberly, eyes thoughtful.
âWe havenât had a visit from social services in months. What brings you here now?â
Kimberly wrestled with the idea of telling her the truth. She sat down again, holding eye contact. âCat, we know that your uncle has been abusing you. Now, I realize itâs a strong wordââ
âAm I going to go to one of thoseâ what do you call themâ foster families?â Cat interrupted.
âIâm going to be honest with you here. Itâs a very likely possibility.â
There was a shift in her expression. âNo,â Cat said firmly. âI donât want to live with strangers.â
âIt wonât be as bad as it sounds. Weâll give you to a nice, loving family who weâll have checked thoroughly to make sure they are trustworthyââ
âYeah, you guys did such a great job with Trevor, didnât you?â
âI donât know what to tell you. Iâm sorry, sweetie. Thereâs really no other option. From what Iâve discovered, this is not a safe environment for you to be in. Frankly, your uncle is far from the ideal guardian.â
âI donât care. Iâm not being shipped off again.â
âCat, justââ
Kimberlyâs phone buzzed in her pocket. âUgh!â She checked it. EMERGENCY , the text read in all-caps. PICK UP YOUR PHONE.
âHold on,â she said. âIâll be right back. Stay right here, okay? I just need to step outside...â
She spent a brief five minutes on the phone with admin, said something about needing to get back to a case she was on, and came back into the apartment.
There was no sign of a fair-haired girl. Kimberly searched the apartment and called her name, certain that the girl must be hiding somewhere or doing something equally childish.
And then she noticed that the girlâs closet had been ransacked, and so had the kitchen. The box of Fruity Pebbles was nowhere in sight. A window was cracked open, a light breeze flowing through.
Kimberly pinched her nose, fighting the urge to scream. It was obvious what had happened.
Ten feet away, she heard the sounds of someone throwing up. Trevor Gray started when he saw her. He swore at her, demanding who she was and how she got into his apartment. Stumbling a little, he looked around wildly like he expected an entire fleet of police to show up.
âWhaâ thâ hellâs goinâ on?â
Kid Y/N feels under the weather, what is gonna happen? ft Wanda and NatashaÂ
Rain pelted against the large windows of the Avengers compound, a symphony of nature's melancholy to accompany the drama unfolding within. Y/N, a young child with an inclination for mischief, which made her seem like Loki's daughter sometimes (she may be...), and two extraordinary guardians: Natasha Romanoff and Wanda Maximoff, found herself feeling under the weather. The cold had crept into her small frame, bringing with it a storm of sneezes and sniffles.
In the heart of the Avengers' home, the living room was a battleground. Y/N lay on the couch, surrounded by a fortress of plush toys. The television played some animated movie, forgotten in the background. Natasha was still donned in her Black Widow uniform after returning from a mission with Wanda, her fiery red hair cascading in waves, was the epitome of calm. She knelt beside the couch, worry etching lines on her face as she touched Y/N's forehead with the back of her hand.
Y/N - Mama, I don't wanna take those yucky medicines!Â
Whined the little girl as her raspy voice showed her clear discomfort.
Wanda, also in her Scarlet Witch attire, floated into the room with a tray of steaming soup and a small bottle of medicine. Her expressive eyes softened as they met Y/N's defiant gaze.Â
Wanda - Sweetheart, it'll make you feel better. Just a spoonful, okay? *frowns*
The girl's eyes narrowed and a pout formed on her lips.Â
Y/N - No! It tastes icky.
Natasha sighed, her stern look softened by a smile.Â
Natasha - Come on, kiddo. You'll be back to causing chaos in no time.
Y/N's eyes welled up, a mixture of exhaustion and frustration.Â
Y/N - I don't wanna be sick, Mommy.
Natasha's heart melted at the word. Y/N had walked into her and Wanda's life like a burst of sunshine, and now, seeing her curled up with illness, it felt like the sun had been clouded over.
Natasha exchanged a glance with Wanda, who was now floating in the air, her green eyes filled with concern.Â
Wanda - We just want you to feel better, little one. *soft voice with a motherly smile*
But Y/N was having none of it. With a sudden burst of energy, she sat up, sending the plush toys scattering like leaves in the wind.Â
Y/N - I don't want the yucky medicine! I hate it!
Natasha's eyes met Wanda's, both sharing a knowing look. Parenting, even for two superheroes, had its challenges. But they were up for it. Wanda floated down to Y/N's eye level, a playful smile on her face.Â
Wanda - How about a deal, little rebel? Take the medicine, and Mama will read you a story. A magical one.
Y/N eyed Wanda suspiciously, her small brain working through the proposal.Â
Y/N - A really magical one? *head tilt*
Wanda nodded, her fingers conjuring a spark of Scarlet energy.Â
Wanda - The most magical story you've ever heard.Â
Y/N contemplated this for a moment before finally nodding with all the seriousness a child could muster.Â
Y/N - Okay, but no yucky medicine next time. *scrunches nose*
Natasha handed Wanda the medicine with a smirk.Â
Natasha - Of course, princesa.
Wanda poured the medicine into a small spoon, casting a glance at Natasha. Natasha nodded subtly, understanding the silent question. Wanda approached Y/N, who was still eyeing the spoon with scepticism.
Wanda - Open wide, little one. *cooing*.
Y/N opened her mouth reluctantly and Wanda administered the medicine. The kid grimaced at the taste, but she swallowed it down with a determined expression.
Natasha - Good job, honey!Â
Natasha praised, ruffling Y/N's hair.
Wanda - Now, for the magical story...Â
Wanda settled on the floor near Natasha with Y/N nestled between their chests.
As Wanda began weaving a tale of enchanted forests and talking animals, Y/N's eyes sparkled with wonder. The room echoed with Wanda's melodic voice, each word painting a vivid picture in the child's imagination. Natasha sat back, watching the scene unfold with a smile. The storm outside seemed to fade away, leaving only the warmth of the family huddled together.
As the story reached its climax, Y/N's eyelids grew heavy. The pair shared a glance, silently agreeing to transfer the dozing child to her cosy bed. Together, they lifted Y/N, who mumbled something about flying with Mama and Mommy in the magical forest.
In her room, surrounded by plush toys and soft blankets, Y/N slept peacefully. Natasha and Wanda lingered for a moment, marvelling at the small, slumbering figure. Parenthood was an adventure, one they embraced wholeheartedly.
As they tiptoed out of the room, Natasha began to whisper.Â
Natasha - We make a good team, don't we? *smirks*
Wanda nodded, her eyes reflecting the love and contentment they both felt.Â
Wanda - The best. *winks*
And with that, the two superheroes, mothers to a special little girl, ventured back into the living room. The storm outside had quieted, leaving behind the soft hum of family and the promise of many more magical stories to come.
Worried Moms
a/n: hey it's my first request, i hope you'll like it. I loved to write it.
*not my GIFs*
WandaNat x adoptive!daughter!reader; Natasha Romanoff x Wanda Maximoff; Avengers x teen!f!reader
Request: And I do have something to request if you feel comfy doing it. Mom!Wanda and Mama!Nat with the reader as their daughter. Reader gets sick and tries to hide it and push through it but they end up fainting or something like that, cue to mama bears mothering her to health. (Idk if fainting can be considered a trigger but if it's for you, I'd gladly read the fic with whatever you have in mind.). [Request by @darkstar225]
Summary: You're sick but you have to hid it from your moms because you want to go in mission, unfortunatly for you and Sam everything don't go well.
Type: Fluff
Warning: maybe 'fucked up' use three time
word count: 1319
--------
You awoke with a headache; it was unusual for you to become ill since gaining your powers. You didn't know if it was a bad thing, but you had to hide it; the next week, you'll go on a mission, but first you have to get your moms' approval. They said they would think about it if you managed to survive your training session. Easy, no? The rest of the day, your state was getting worse, but because you successfully hid it from an ex-assassin and a witch who could read your mind (even if she didn't do it without your consent), you could handle it a little longer.
The next day, otherwise, at the time you woke up, you thought you could die;Â if it was a cold, it was the worst you ever had. But you didn't really have the time to think about it; you checked your clock: 9 a.m., which meant you had one hour before the start of your training session. You decided to take a hot shower; it was helpful for the next 40 minutes. Today you were paired with Sam to upgrade your hand-to-hand combat skill. At first it was like usual, but suddenly your breath hurt your lungs. You stopped and tried to process what was happening, but Sam punched you in the face. It wasn't a strong punch; he restrained himself, but due to your poor condition, you fell on the training ground with your eyes closed; you were knocked out. When your body hit the ground, everyone in the room froze. There was silence until Sam kneeled next to you and asked, "Y/n? Y/n, are you all right?"
Obviously not, but you didn't mind that he couldn't think clearly. To be honest, no one could; the Falcon picked you up from the floor and ran to the med bay, followed by all the rest of the team.
"You're fucked up, Sam." Bucky said,
"I didn't do anything; we were training, and I just tried to punch her. "Usually, she'd dodge and hit me back," he defended himself.
"But now she's knocked out, and the only person with her was you. FRIDAY, could you please call doctor Cho?" Steve asked the A.I.
"It's done, Mr. Roger," the IA confirmed, but the hero couldn't respond before FRIDAY spoke again. "Mrs. Romanoff and Mrs. Maximoff are back."
There; he was fucked up. On their way to the kitchen, the two redheads found Helene, who was in a hurry and bumped into the shorter woman. "Sorry Natasha, I didnât look where I was walking,â she apologized, and the Russian nodded.
âItâs okay, donât worry, but you seem in a hurry, so we will not restrain you more.â She said and stepped aside to let the doctor resume her course. Wanda just had the time to put the bags on the counter when FRIDAY spoke.
âMrs. Maximoff, Mrs. Romanoff, the doctor needs you in the infirmary right now.â The two women exchange a confused look before heading to where they were called. In front of the room, the witch felt a wave of fear and sadness, and she started to worry. Of course, Nat noticed and grabbed her hand before they walked into the room.
Their eyes widened when they saw you in the bed; they rushed to you before any of them could say anything Sam explained whatâs happened. âHow couldnât you notice she was not like usual?â the Russian yelled at him, and nobody found the courage to defend him.
Wanda approached you and cupped your cheek. "Don't worry, dragÄ (darling), she's fine," the Sokovian assured her, and Helen spoke up.
"Donât worry, Natasha I just got the results from the test, and it seems she just has a cold.â The doctor reassured her, and the ex-assassin seemed to be more calm. âShe just needs to rest for a week. Iâll give you some medicine in case she needs it after she wakes up.â Everyone except your mothers left you after your mothers nodded.
After two hours, you awoke. You were surrounded by two worried redheads. âHey, you.â you said softly.
âHey, you.â Wanda said, and Natasha gave you a soft smile. âHow are you feeling?â the witch asked you.
âLike I collided with a bus, but he was moving. But I think I'm okay," you said, looking around and raising your brows. "Where am I?" you inquired.
âIn the infirmary,â the Black Widow said this time, âwe were really worried about you when Sam told us whatâs happened.â
You sighed âIâm sorry,â you said quietly.
âSince when?â Wanda asked, and her wife looked at her confused. âSince when have you been like this?â she added.
âYesterday.â You admitted it shyly.
âYesterday!?â the older woman loudly repeated, and you nodded. âWhy did you hide it from us?â She inquired, a little concerned about her failure to notice it earlier.
You played with your fingers to try to erase your anxiety, âbecause you said youâd let me go with you if I finished the training session. And I wanted to make you proud of me, and show you I was ready. So, I forced myself to not let you know and not think about it when I was near Mama.â You paused a moment, saying, "I'm sorry if it makes you worry," and some tears found their way into the corner of your eyes.
âHey, itâs okay.â Nat cupped your cheek and brushed your tears with her thumb. âItâs okay; weâre a little worried, but itâs okay; weâre not mad or anything. You donât have to cry, malyshka (baby girl)â their eyes were wet too.
You were about to speak again when a red whip lifted you. The scarlet magic tickled you âWe canât stay here, and you have to rest.â The witch said, and you laughed, âWhat is so funny?â She gave you a falsely curious look.
âIt-hahaâŚitâs tickling me.â You barely said and before you could notice she lend you on your bed. âThank you,â you said, and they gave you a kiss on both cheeks before heading to the door. âWhere are you going?â you asked.
âWe must cook you something. Weâll not let you like that.â Wanda said before they left the room. In the kitchen, everybody was waiting for the two women to give an update.
âHow is our little fireball?â Tony asked.
âMuch better,â Wanda replied, âshe just needs rest. We put her in her bed, and weâll cook something, so sheâll eat before sleeping again.â She explained, and after that, Natasha hit Samâs head.
âWhat was that for?â he asked, a little scared.
âYou hit our baby girl.â the Russian replied; âyouâre lucky Wanda didnât throw you away earlier,â she added, and the atmosphere changed. âAnd for the mission, I think we will let you go. We will stay with Y/n. Iâll text Fury.â She explained, nobody found any reason to argue; they know how much they love you, so it's obvious theyâll never let you alone in this condition.
You spent the next week in your bedroom, surrounded by your momsâ love; you couldnât leave your bed without one of them following and making sure you were okay. Sam was not allowed to approach you for a month. It was pretty funny, and after that, he spent two months making sure you forgave him, even if you assured him it was not his fault.
This little incident proved how much they loved you, and of course you were glad even if you already knew that. You adored them just as much as they do.The world knew how scary the Black Widow and the Scarlet Witch were, and Sam could approve. But the world didnât know how lovely and careful they could be, between them, of course, but twice as much with you.
Avenger Birthday Bash
Natasha x daughter!reader
Summary: Natasha's daughter isn't the fondest of her mom's new girlfriend. BIRTHDAY PARTY
Warnings: fluffy, remembering past.
Extra Pairings:
Bruce Banner x Platonic!reader
Natasha x Maria Hill
Not my gifs*
âI think I owe her that at least.â
âIâll start planning!â
âNo, no I am not letting you plan any part of this!â
âItâll be lovely.â Maria kissed her girlfriend good bye and left Natasha speechless.
-
âMomâŚ?â You emphasized dramatically down the corridors of the Avengers compound. âMom-â you turned a corner, almost bumping into, well, Maria Hill. Your momâs girlfriend, who you liked and the relationship wasnât new to you so it wasnât as awkward as it use to be around her. âHey, Miss Hill,â Except for that. That made things unnecessarily awkward. âHave you seen my mom?â
âHello, Y/n, yes she is up in the kitchen.â The moment being stretched out by neither of you moving away to continue down your separate paths. You didn't have anything else to say, but the second you started to move she stuttered saying, âHey- So- Y/n,â You turned back to her, â You excited for your birthday?â
âYeah I am, thanks.â And with that you were gone.
Before Maria and Natasha had become âa thingâ you would joke around with the commander when going on mission or seeing her around the compound. So now that the demeanor between the both of you is very different, neither of you knows how to get back to normal. You hadnât thought about it for too long at one time.
Her and mom might not even last, so what does it matter.
-
âHappy birthday, pretty girl!â Natasha kissed your cheek as you woke up to her voice. âLook whos awake,â You breathed in and rolled into her arms. âHu- Hi my sweets, are you hungry. Wanda made your favorite.â Instantly smiling, you bring your mom into a hug.
âThank you, thank you, mama.â
âYour welcome,â she kissed your forehead, âTell your aunt the same.â
âMhm.â
âIâll see you down there?â
âYes.â
-
âHappy birthday Y/n!â Wanda exclaimed as you walked in the kitchen, Sam and Bucky joining in, in wishing you a good birthday. Even Thor hoped your birthday would be godly. You ate and thanked your aunt for the food, then set out to find your mother for your birthday party. You walked down the halls in search of the distant music, or bumping into bruce racing to get to your party before you could find it. While all you found was Natasha comforting her girlfriend of your presence.
âHasnât been so long.â
âItâs been long enough.â
âSheâll come around.
âI donât know, Nat. She-â
âLook at me, Maria. I will have a chat with my daughter about this. Y/n, likes you, I know she does. I guess this is just still new to her.â You had heard enough, and was walking away, trying to take extra long to âfindâ the party itself, as it seemed they needed a minute. Thus, when walking down halls feeling guilty and having an accused look on your face, of course it was Bruce to find you. He couldnât really tell what you were feeling, but knew it had a sort of weight to it.
âYou find the extravaganza, yet, kid?â He tried a smile and you returned it, softly.
âNot yet, but by the way your headed, it seems Iâm going the wrong direction.â
âMaybe,â You knew you were, but Bruce didnât, âmaybe not.â A light beat passed before he went on. âWalk with me?â He started walking and you kept up with him at his right side.
âYou make anything for the party?â You asked, as Bruce and Tony usually teamed up to make you a cool invention each year.
âYouâll have to wait and see.â You groaned, wanting him to just tell you.
âCome on-â
âI am not saying a word, Y/n.â
âAlright, fine. Bruce, can I ask your opinion.â
âSure.â
âWhat do you think about mom and Maria?â Bruceâs eyes furrowed, as he walked on. He wasnât sure. He hadnât thought to much on the idea.
âWell, their dating.â
âEveryone knows that, fool. Do you think they are gonna last?â Contemplating your words, he turns to you.
âI canât answer that, all I know is that they are a good couple right now, how am I supposed to know if they will be in a year, or 10 years. I am not sure if Natasha can even answer that one for you, kid.â He finished and saw the expression on your face, then putting am arm around your shoulders, forcing you to move with him. âLets go have a great party, okay?â
âYeah, okay.â
âIt is your Birthday, after all!â
-
Walking into the party, where everyone and everything was setting up to look like an extravagant birthday card, you smiled at your familyâs hard work..
âHAPPY BIRTHDAY Y/N!!â They all shouted at somewhat of the same time. You cut the cake, and opened presents, Natasha took your picture with all the family behind you, Thor picked you up in a tight but loving hug, Tony helped you blow out your candles, calling you old and Bruce showed you the invention he and Tony had worked on. A new suit, just for you.
âMOM! TONY AND BRUCE GOT ME A NEW SUIT.â You shouted across the room. Natasha saw how excited you were, and so decided she would yell at the men later, about the safety of her daughter. Right now was her birthday.
âThatâs wonderful! Youâll have to wear it to training.â
-
Once the late afternoon had started, there was no stopping it or Avengers becoming tired from all the birthday happenings. And while laying on the couch with your mom, watching some show, you turned to her and asked about Maria and her, letting her know about the awkward situation that had gone on earlier.
âMaria isnât going anywhere, sweetheart.â Your eyes wandered towards commander Hill.
âBut what about me?
âWhat about you, baby?
âI donât know, when are we gonna hang out? Ever?â Natashaâs eyes fluttered, not realizing what you had been feeling.
âWe will hang out all the time. She could never take me away from you baby, okay?â You just nod, and go in for a hug. âCome on, babe, lets go celebrate my little widow.â
hii, can i req. a lil smth? for kagekao & reader (maybe i donât look hard enough but i feel like i rarely see contents on him ;; so). iâm not rly lookin for anything romantic but maybe in general some darker or yandere-like hcs? as in maybe reader is an acquaintance, or even a victim in the scenario. not sure if iâm making any sense here /lh
a/n: i think i understand?? maybe?? i tried!! hope you like it!! decided to go with the victim scenario because i had some thoughts about that.
kagekao with a gn!victim!reader.
warnings: it is neither romantic nor platonic, slight yandere-ish traits if you squint, reader doesn't speak japanese in this, kagekao torments the reader, swearing, stalking, mind-games, nightmares, the feeling of being watched, crying, ownership, mockery, blood, murder, impending doom, the murder is vaguely described bc idk how graphic i can be fdjksfhj.
Kagekao is, first and foremost, a demon before anything else. He finds joy in seeing other people hurt, and he loves teasing his victims until they're crying and begging to be put out of their misery.
Now you, my poor friend, have been unfortunate enough to catch his attention while he's out in the town.
Maybe it's the way you carried yourself, or maybe you bumped into him when rushing off somehow but something about you caught his attention, and he just had to mess with you.
And maybe he had no intentions of killing you at first. He does that sometimes. He finds that sparing people is equally as fun as killing them because no one will ever believe them. I mean, who would believe that there's a demon that appears to be human just... prowling the streets and murdering people for fun?
But seeing the way you reacted to his little pranks, the way you would tense up slightly and look scared and a bit confused when random objects in your home began to fall on the floor or when you would suddenly end up with cuts and bruises that you had no memory of ever getting... well, Kagekao just knew there was more. He needed to see how you'd look as you feared for your life.
But he didn't want to make it quick. No, no. He wanted to terrorize you. He wanted to break you before finally sparing you of your life. It would be a merciful act, killing you. And it would be so good.
Which is rather surprising, considering he gets bored rather easily. Nothing ever keeps his attention, but there's just something about you that he needs to break.
And so, the game began.
You were completely oblivious to the very existence of Kagekao, going about your days as you normally did. Though... there was something different.
Everywhere you go, there seems to be eyes on you. You can never figure out where the feeling is coming from, but you know that someone is watching you. You tried your best to ignore it, but sometimes you could feel the dark intent coming from the mysterious person's gaze.
He thinks it's adorable that you're trying to ignore the unease of him watching you.
But soon enough, the feeling of being watched escalates to seeing something from the corner of your eyes.
You'll be walking downtown and you'll catch a masked figure leaning against a lamppost one moment, but then you'll blink and he'll be gone. Sometimes, you experience this when you're in the safety of your home. That's the one that terrifies you the most.
Then the nightmares begin. Now, Kagekao may be a demon but he can't influence your dreams. Though he really wishes he could. No, the nightmares are a manifestation of the fear you've been feeling these past few months. Honestly, it's an added bonus for him. Makes this all the more fun when you wake up in the middle of the night with tears streaming down your face as you shoot out of bed.
And once the nightmares begin, the whispering starts. But you can't understand what the whispers are because you don't speak Japanese. The whispers are also so... jumbled together and distorted on occasions that it would be impossible to try and decipher what they're saying.
There was this one time that you woke up in the middle of the night after a particularly bad nightmare and when you opened your eyes... it was a quick flash, but you swore you saw something crawl across your ceiling. Whatever it was, it had claws.
You start losing sleep as well, making you much more susceptible to Kagekao's mind-games.
And when you cry from the overwhelming stress and fear this is causing you, Kagekao just stays hidden and coos a bit because aw, aren't you just adorable like this?
Kagekao takes his time with you. He enjoys seeing you curl up into a ball on the ground as you cry and curse at the world, begging the universe to make your life normal again. It's so satisfying to see you break down. But you're not quite ready to be killed off yet. You still have a will to live, and that's not good. Even after all the mental torture, you still want to live. The game can't be finished until you want to die. Perhaps he should start inflicting physical torture soon...
Nah. He doesn't want to rush it. Not yet.
What the fuck.
What the fuck.
What the actual fuck.
You sat on your spot on the concrete sidewalk, staring at the carnage in front of you as you struggled to process what was happening. This past year has been utter hell for you. The feeling of being watched, the nightmares, the whispering, the random hallucinations of this... creature-like person... all of it just weighed down on you.
But this?
This felt far worse than all the other stuff.
It was the dead of night, and you had gotten off work pretty late. You didn't want to go home, not yet, so you decided to walk around the town a bit. There had been people around when you made that decision, so you weren't too worried. Besides, this was a pretty safe part of town, so you didn't think you had to worry about your life being in danger.
You were wrong, of course. You should've known better. You've always been in danger. Nowhere is safe, not anymore. Though, it wasn't the danger you were expecting.
The danger you had found yourself in was far more real than your paranoia and nightmares.
You had been so lost in your thoughts, wandering around the town with no real destination in mind, when you had been attacked. It had happened so quickly, you weren't entirely sure why you got jumped but it was probably supposed to be a robbery of sorts.
Key phrase; supposed to be.
The moment you had been grabbed, you were suddenly being pushed to the ground and you could only watch in horror as the scene unfolded in front of you. It took you a moment to even process what was happening.
The person who attacked you was... well... they were on the ground as well, but someone was on top of them. Someone that... has claws... and looks eerily similar to the scary hallucination that's been haunting you since the beginning of the year...
He was on top of the person who attacked you, and he was just... it was a graphic sight, to put it simply. There was so much blood, and he just kept sticking his claws into the poor person even after they were already gone. There was clear anger in his actions, and you're terrified to imagine that anger directed towards you.
Self-preservation kicks in after a moment, but it doesn't kick in fast enough because soon the man-creature's attention is on you instead.
There's a moment of silence as he just stares at you. You weren't even sure if he was breathing or not, he was so still.
You flinch when he reaches a clawed hand out towards you, and you instinctively close your eyes as you expect to feel pain. Instead, you felt one of his fingers gently brush against your cheek.
He had wiped away a stray tear of yours. And also smeared blood on your face. You felt your stomach churn at that thought as you opened your eyes, staring at his masked face. There were so many questions you wanted to ask but you only managed to quietly ask one.
"Are you going to kill me?"
He tilts his head slightly at the question, and you could've sworn that you heard him quietly giggle.
"Yes, I will." He honestly answers, his tone light as if this were some casual conversation, "But not yet. You're not ready."
What the fuck does that mean?
"But don't worry, I'll keep you safe until I do kill you, okay?" He pats your head in a way that feels mocking, and you cringe at the feeling of blood sticking to your hair, "After all, you're mine to kill. And I would hate for the fun to end so soon."
And you could feel your heart drop to the pit of your stomach at his words as you imagine the pure hell you're going to go through now that he's actually interacted with you.
All you can do is keep him entertained until he gets bored. Who knows, maybe you'll be lucky enough and find away to escape him before it's too late.
only you || s.r.
pairing: steve rogers x reader (brief platonic!nat, sam, and bucky.)
*navigation/directory | request box | taglist | masterlist
word count: 7.1k summary: only a few weeks after a breakup, you go out for the night with the team. steve doesnât show up, and heâs been purposefully not showing up to anything non-work related after the breakup. however, tonight you drink a little too much, and insist that steve pick you up. warnings: angst (breakup, talk of bullying, body image issues), swearing, drinking, *smutty implications.
"I'm sorry, I just didn't know who else to call," Sam explains, his voice raised to speak louder than the blaring music.
"She keeps asking for you, and she won't go with anyone but you," Bucky adds as he and Sam lead Steve through the crowded dancefloor.
The blond sighs and shoves his phone into the pocket of his jeans. "It's alright, really, but just how drunk is she, exactly?"
Before Sam can respond, they come to a stop right in front of the team's reserved booth. Bruce had only come for all of an hour of the night, but Clint and Tony had left about thirty minutes prior to Steve's arrival, leaving your well-being in Natasha, Bucky, and Sam's hands.
Steve looks over you and Nat; you're laid down on the long, cushioned seat with your head resting on her lap. Her jacket is slung over your lower half to cover your exposed legs from your dress rising up on your thighs. You're looking up at her adoringly, reaching up to twirl strands of her hair between your fingers as you mumble about how pretty her hair is.
"That answer your question?" Sam whispers, chuckling slightly.
Another sigh falls from Steve's lips, and although his heart aches, he has to stop himself from cracking a smile. "That it does."
He steps closer to the booth, taking in the sight of you with softened eyes. Typically, you never let yourself get this drunk, not in the public eye at least. Even though it's clear you've had more than a bit too much to drink, the sight is endearing.
Nat directs her attention from you and up at the three men approaching the table instead. Her expression is one of amusement with a slight hint of relief as she looks down at you again. "Hey, look who's here, honey," she says softly to you.
You turn your head in her lap and let your hands fall back down, finally releasing her hair from your gentle grip. Your eyes land on Steve and you blink up at him before a wide, drunken smile spreads on your face.
"Steeeeve!" you exclaim in a slur, reaching your hand out for him. "You came!"
He crouches down next to the booth, hesitantly taking your hand into his. "Hey, doll. 'Course I came, I always will. Looks like you've had fun tonight, huh?"
You nod excitedly and your smile spreads into a grin. "Nat's hair is sooo pretty, did ya know that? 'S soft too, like a pillow," you ramble, your words somehow not coming out scrambled.
"I bet," Steve says, watching Nat brush your hair out of your face. "Let's get you home, yeah?"
"Your home?" you ask in a softer voice.
Right. His home.
"I don't..." Steve starts before falling into silent contemplation.
He looks up at Nat who's already looking back at him, her expression apologetic and soft. Then his eyes shift back down to you, and his heart clenches in his chest. Your eyelashes flutter as you blink at him, your eyes light up and twinkle in a way that they only do for him, and your lips part a little as you take slower breaths.
How could he say no to that?
"Sure, yeah, we'll go back to mine," he concedes gently, rubbing your knuckles with his thumb.
You smile again and scramble to sit upright. Nat lays a hand on your back to help keep you balanced, Steve taking your other hand in his free one to pull you up gently. When you're sat up straight, he takes Nat's jacket off your legs and helps you tug your dress back down.
He slides your phone off the table and into his pocket before throwing your arms around his neck. You take the hint to hold on as he slides one of his arms under your legs and the other behind your back.
Effortlessly, he lifts you into his arms. You clasp your hands together behind his neck and a giggle slips out of your lips- a sound that was once music to his ears which had now become one he longed to hear again.
"G'night, Nat," you say sweetly, turning your head to look at her.
Steve's body follows the direction of your head, turning towards the table so you don't strain your neck. Her eyes meet yours and she smiles at you once more.
"Goodnight, babe. Text me tomorrow, alright?" she requests before looking up at Steve and saying, "Make sure to get some water in her, we had to trick her into drinking some by watering down her tequila."
"Will do-"
Your gasp cuts Steve off effectively, her words only just now sinking in. "That wasn't tequila?!" you exclaim, your voice coming out quieter than you realize.
The three at the table laugh a little- even Steve lets out a low chuckle of his own.
"I'll let you in on a secret," Nat starts, her voice dropping to a whisper before continuing, "It was definitely tequila, but you know these guys are no fun, so we can't tell them that."
"Ohhh, right, right. I can keep a secret- you're the world's bestest adult sitter," you reply softly.
"The best, huh?" she questions with a half smirk.
When you nod, she takes a sip of her drink, placing the glass down before saying, "I'll be expecting my plaque soon then."
"You wanna say bye to Sam and Bucky?" he asks, looking over slightly to meet your eyes.
You hum in response and he walks you over a few steps to Bucky and Sam who are sitting at the other end of the table. The pair smile at you, though it's more of an amused grin on Bucky's end, and you return the gesture.
"Bye, Bucky," you say, sleep and intoxication ridden in your voice.
Bucky chuckles and rises to his feet to ruffle your hair playfully. "Bye, doll. You get some good sleep, alright?"
Your nose scrunches at the feeling of his hand in your hair. "Always good sleep when with Stevie."
Bucky sits back down, and Sam starts to speak, "Punch it in," he instructs, raising his fist up to your level.
You oblige happily, curling your hand into a fist to the best of your ability and bumping it against his. "G'bye," you slur, nuzzling your face into the crook of Steve's neck.
"Call us if you need us," Bucky says to Steve.
"Yeah, thank you for watching over her," Steve responds appreciatively, "Goodnight, be safe getting home."
"'Night," the three say collectively, smiling at him in a way that's bordering apologetic.
Steve forces a smile before turning to walk away. He makes his way through the crowd, holding you tight and protectively against his chest.
"You can go to sleep if you want, I can tell you're sleepy," he murmurs low enough for just you to hear him.
A small whimper emits from you, making a warmth spread through his body. He looks down at you adoringly before looking back up, shifting his focus back to the rather slow journey to the exit. Although some people part to make way for who they know to be Captain America himself, most of them are too drunk to care. So, Steve focuses heavily on navigating through the maze of bodies.
When he steals a glance down at you again, you're sleeping peacefully and your head has fallen back away from his neck. You must've felt him move though, because you immediately nestle your face back into his neck, and the warmth of your breath against his skin makes him shiver. The scent of the alcohol you'd been drinking lingers, but it's mixed with the familiar fragrance of your vanilla perfume, and it creates a blend that only you could pull off.
When you reach the exit, the cold, autumn night air hits both of your faces. Steve adjusts his grip on you to make sure you're comfortable and then walks to the car he ordered that dropped him off. The driver steps out, and opens the passenger side door for the two of you, allowing Steve to slide you comfortably onto the seat.
He thanks the driver as you whine at the loss of contact. You melt sleepily into his touch when he reaches in to brush your hair behind your ear to let you know he's not leaving. The bright city lights reflect in his blue eyes, and a soft, but achy, smile plays on his lips at the sight of you. Careful not to wake you or pinch your fingers, he fastens your seatbelt, making sure you're secure before closing the car door.
He walks to the other side of the car and gets in, choosing to sit by the window instead of next to you in the middle seat. As the car starts up, he can't help but look at you and admire you. The admiration quickly turns into longing, though. He takes in every part of your face, his mind plaguing itself with the memory of just over two months ago.
"I don't think I'm right for you."
The words flow easily from your mouth like water between open fingers. Steve looks at you, utterly confused and hurt. His jaw tightens, his eyebrows furrowing as he opens his mouth to speak, only to close it again when he can't find the words.
He gets off the couch, rising to his feet and looking at you from across the room. "You want to leave, to forget everything from the last year and a half, just because you don't think you're right for me?"
The weight of your decision and his words sit heavily on your shoulders as you slouch over, putting your face in your hands for a moment. "I... I'm no good for you, Steve, and you deserve better than me... I can't be what, or who, you need."
"What are you talking about, y/n? You're perfect to me, I wouldn't trade you for anything," he explains, trying to keep his voice soft and reassuring despite the fear and irritation building up in him. "Please, tell me what I can do to make you feel better and I'll do it, I'll do anything-"
"You can't do anything!" you finally snap, your emotions being misdirected towards him. You let the warm tears that were welling up fall freely from your eyes as you continue, "There's nothing you can do, Steven, I'm not the person you need, and I never will be. Drop it, just leave it at that, and move on."
"'Leave it at that?'" Steve repeats back in bewilderment. "We have been together for almost two years and you expect me to drop all of it just like that?"
All you can muster up in response is a quiet, "I'm sorry."
He watches you stand up and sling your purse over your shoulder. Desperately, he scrambles for the right words to say to make you stay. "Baby, please, tell me what's really going on here- this cannot be it for us, I won't let it be."
Steve takes long strides towards you only for you to back away from him. For some strange reason, that small action hurt worse than any of the words that came, or could possibly come, out of your mouth. He stops dead in his tracks, trying to search your face for any sign of changing your mind. When he doesn't find it, he bites down on his tongue to save himself more heartache from the useless begging he wants to let out.
"I'm sorry, Steve. You deserve better, and you always have," you mumble, wiping the tears off your cheeks and walking quickly to the front door.
"I love you," he says, only to receive no response other than the front door slamming shut as you walk out of it.
âYou alright back there?â the driverâs voice snaps Steve out of his thoughts. âYou need heat or air? Seat warmers? Anything?â
Steve shakes his head slightly, snapping himself out of it. His hand reaches over to you, and he rests the back of his hand on your forehead. âA little heat, thanks,â he says with a smile after nothing the tinge of cold your skin has.
âOf course,â the driver says with a returned smile as he turns the heat on.
As he avigates the familiar route to Steveâs apartment, with the sleepiness Steve feels, he's thankful for the fact that there's only a minute or two remaining of the drive. And on the other hand, heâs sulking about the short time left because thatâs two minutes closer to you being gone by the time he wakes up.
He turns his gaze back to you, still peacefully asleep with your head resting against the window. The soft hum of the engine provides an almost calming backdrop that yet does nothing to soothe the ache that persists. Focusing on the rhythmic rise and fall of your chest always seems to soothe him though, and it still does so now.
The car comes to a stop in front of the apartment, and Steve reaches into his wallet to pull out some cash. He pulls out his keys too, to make it easier when he gets to the door. Then he hands the cash to the driver with a grateful nod before getting out of the car and making his way to your side. Gently, he opens the door, reaching up quickly to lean your head back on the headrest.
You grumble a little, and he's quick to ease you as he unbuckles your seatbelt. "Sorry, sweetheart, but we're home now."
"Home?" you murmur, still half asleep.
He carefully lifts you into his arms once more, and you instantly cling to his jacket. "Yeah... home."
The building's lobby is quiet as he enters through the automatic doors, the night shift doorman giving him a knowing smile. Steve offers nothing but a small and short nod in return, his focus solely on your drunken state. Luckily the elevator ride is short, but every second feels like an eternity to him.
The weight of your body curled up in his arms provides a comforting familiarity. It's a familiarity he soaks up though, having not seen you outside of work during the few missions you had together. In fact, you hadn't spoken to him outside of work since you left either.
Even during missions, you were short with your comments. And when you picked up your things from his apartment, of which you were actively moving into, you did it on a day when he was gone. You'd left your key under the mat and shot him a brief text letting him know. He replied, only asking how you were doing, but he got no response back.
The elevator dings, snapping him out of his thoughts again as he steps out, taking long strides until he reaches his door. He turns to the side, bending down ever so slightly to unlock the door with his keys in the hand hooked under your legs. He twists the doorknob and pushes the door open, carrying you inside with practiced ease.
The soft glow of outside city lights filters through the open windows. Paired with the dim tv, the lights cast a cool ambiance over the living room. With a deep breath, he heads straight to his room and slowly lays you down on the bed.
The bedroom is dark except for the blue and green aurora projected on the ceiling from the starlight projector you insisted he get since his room was too 'plain.' At first, the light kept him up at night because he found it too distracting, but since you'd left, he couldn't sleep without it on. After all, it was the only piece of you that you left with him other than the few shirts and undergarments.
Steve sighs deeply, taking your heels off your feet and placing them next to the bed. He covers you with your favorite blanket from the foot of his bed, and with a heart heavier than typical, he makes his way to the kitchen to fill up a cup with water. He then carries the glass back to the bedroom and sits it on the bedside table.
He takes a moment to simply watch you as he sits on the edge of the bed next to you. The soft features of your face relaxed in sleep makes him contemplate waking you up- you were always a peaceful sleeper, and he hated disturbing those few moments of peace.
Before he can attempt to wake you, you begin to stir, your eyelashes fluttering as your eyes slowly open. You blink slowly a few times, allowing your eyes to adjust to the dim lighting, and then a sleepy smile forms on your face when you see Steve.
"Hey," he greets you softly, reaching over to offer you the glass of water from the nightstand.
"Thank you," you say.
It's obvious that you're still not sober as you take the glass and sit up too quickly, the sudden movement resulting in your head throbbing as you groan. "Ouch," you mumble, pressing the palm of your free hand against your forehead.
"You okay?"
"Think so," you reply, sitting up much slower than before.
The cool water soothes you a little as you take small sips of it. A contented sigh falls from your lips, your body appreciating the non-alcoholic beverage. You place the glass back onto its spot on the nightstand and then focus your attention back on Steve.
Your eyes reflect the projector's lights as your eyes rake over him for a few seconds. Slower than you realize, you raise your hand and brush it gently over his cheek in admiration. "You're like... like an angel, but a reaaally handsome one," you croon.
Steve chuckles, a mixture of amusement and genuine joy spreading across his features. "I'm flattered, but you're the angel here, honey," he says with a smile.
He captures your hand in his and brings it to his lips, pressing a soft kiss to your palm. You giggle in response, the alcohol still evident in your system, and then your happy expression fades away. You look down, suddenly feeling a bit self-conscious.
"I'm sorry for, uhm, causing a fuss t'night. I never meant to ruin your night..."
The look on his face becomes one closer to sympathetic as he drops your hand, now reaching over to cup your cheek. Carefully, he forces you to look at him as he speaks. "Hey, you didn't ruin anything, alright? I'll always come when you need me, and I'm just glad you're okay."
Missing the feeling of his skin on yours all too much, you lean into his touch, letting his warmth soothe you. "Thanks for...everything."
"Anytime, truly," he replies.
There's a comfortable silence that falls between you, the weight of the obvious unspoken words lingering in the air. You look up at him, trying to keep yourself awake. Steve drops his hand and tries to memorize every detail of your face. He knows that tomorrow things will go back to how they were, and he's not sure he can stomach that.
It only takes a few more beats of silence before he breaks the said silence, his voice low and gentle. "Can we talk?" he asks, his blue eyes searching yours.
You hum for a moment, taking a slow breath before saying, "Jus' for a minute, very sleepy."
"I just... I have one question, that okay?"
"Hm?"
Steve musters up the courage to speak, only breaking apart from your gaze for a second. "Could you maybe tell me why you left? Like why you really left?"
When your eyes flicker with hesitation and sadness, he starts to regret asking. The air feels heavier than it ever has, holding the weight of everything spoken and not yet said, but he breathes it all in. Right as he's about to tell you to not worry about it, you take a deep breath and smother your vulnerability with the knowledge that he deserves the truth. Slowly as to not give yourself another headache, you nod.
"S'like I told you, that was the truth, 'm not good enough. You look at me with so much love and admiration, and I know...I know I could never live up to what you think of me," you explain, drawing out each word a little more than you would if you were sober. "'M holding you back, always have been, and you deserve better."
His eyebrows furrow as he takes in your words, his gaze intense and sharp. "I look at you like that because of who you are, not because of who I think you should be," he says in an attempt to reassure you. He reaches out to take your hand in his as he continues, "You're always been more than enough, honey. I mean, hell, you're more than I deserve, and-"
"No, no, you don't get it!" you exclaim lowly, cutting him off and taking your hand out of his grip. "Y-you're perfect, you're America's golden boy, and 'm jus' me. I hate my body, my mind, an-and everything about me. Could never be good enough for you, Steve. As if I don't already hate myself enough, everyone says and sees how much more you deserve, except for you."
Steve's mind races and his heart tightens as he takes in your words. The obvious pain in your voice cuts through him like a scalding knife, the tears welling up in your eyes cutting him even deeper. He's now sure that nothing could measure up to the pain of hearing you talk about yourself in the complete opposite way of how he thinks of you.
Silence passes as he dwells on your words. Then it clicks.
"Who's been saying that?" he questions sternly.
You avoid his gaze like the plague, immediately breaking the eye contact you were holding. Physically, you can feel yourself shrink. Whether it's the guilt from your outburst, the shame from everything you've heard and thought about yourself, or the intensity of his gaze- you're not sure.
His jaw tightens in anger, but not directed at you. "Who, y/n?"
A deep and heavy sigh falls from your lips as your eyes dart around the room. "Phone," you say quietly, holding out your hand to him.
Steve looks at your outstretched hand, confusion covering the concern etched on his face briefly. He pauses for a moment before reaching into the pocket of his jeans and pulling out your phone. Placing it in your hand, he watches closely as you unlock it with shaky fingers. Your eyes scan over the screen, but it doesn't take long for you to find what you were looking for, and your expression tells it all.
You hesitate to hand the phone to him, but you do so anyway, lying down on the bed and curling up into yourself as soon as the phone touches his hands. And, not that you see it, but his eyes narrow as he reads over everything rapidly. You'd had it all saved in a little folder; every message, every media report, every post made about you.
He's not sure what's worse of the situation, to be honest. To know that you'd felt this way about yourself for God knows how long and not have said anything about it was painful, sure. However, the words written about you were downright cruel, analytical, and simply not true at all.
But the amount of things that were written and you had saved for you to read at your whim, only reaffirming whatever untrue things you thought about yourself? That was a different level of hurt that he could imagine hurt you hundreds of times worse than it does him.
Unable to stomach anymore, he places your phone face down on the nightstand. Silently, he scoots up on the bed to be closer, reaching out to place his hand on your cheek. You flinch at the contact at first, but his touch is gentle, a stark contrast to the words you've been subjected to.
"I'm so, so sorry, my sweet girl," he says softly, trying to force down tears of his own.
You take a shaky breath in and out, your voice barely above a low murmur. "Didn't want you to leave me, so I left first."
Steve's heart sinks at your admission, his thumb gently stroking your cheek to wipe away the stray tear that escaped your eye. He leans in, pressing a soft kiss to your forehead, a gesture that's meant to offer some kind of comfort and reassurance.
"I would've never left you, and I still won't, okay? I know you care about what they say, but I don't. Nothing could ever skew my image of you, angel, you're my definition of perfect- you don't have any image to live up to in my mind," he promises with a soft-spoken tone.
You can't find it in you to respond even though you want to, all too scared of your voice failing you. Sheer pain radiates from you to the point where it's almost suffocating. While he's more than aware that no words can take back anything you've read or heard, the simple fact that he can't undo what has already been done riddles him with guilt still.
If he could, he would take all of that ache and bear it all for you.
"When did all this start?" he inquires, waiting patiently for your answer.
"I don't know..."
"I know you do, honey, you can tell me."
"Only... Only a week after we got together, got worse after I started moving in here."
"Scoot," he instructs gently, careful to control his tone with you although he feels a deep rage.
You oblige and scoot over slowly. Almost instantly, he lays down behind you, curling up so that his body molds with yours. He brushes a few pieces of your hair back before wrapping his arm around your midsection to hold you protectively against him.
"Can I ask you one more thing?" he asks, adding on, "And you don't have to answer if you don't want to."
After thinking about it for a second, you nod. He tries to find the best way to ask what he wants to ask. Deep down he wants, but somehow already knows, the answer, yet he doesn't want to make things worse. Nor does he want it to seem like the subject is the only thing he was thinking about.
"IsâŚis all of this, meaning what people have said and what you think about yourself- is this why we've never, you know, done anything together?" he inquires with furrowed brows from the overwhelming amount of emotions. "I'm just asking because I never thought this would be why, I thought I was doing something wrong or you just weren't ready."
Your body tenses at his question, and you have to steady your voice before answering, "Part of it. Never felt good enough, and I didn't want you to see me like that and be disappointed."
Steve frowns, sighing lowly as he presses a gentle kiss to the back of your neck. The gesture is simple, but it effectively conveys the depth of what he feels.
"I don't care how long it takes me to convince you, but I'll spend forever trying to get you to see yourself even a fraction of the way I do if I have to," he says as his thumb traces circles on your side. "You're absolutely breathtaking, angel. Fuck anyone who says you're anything other than beautiful."
A quiet giggle slips from between your lips, unable to hold contain your momentary amusement. For the first time in a while, he smiles a real, genuine smile. "You don't know how long I've missed the sound of that pretty laugh."
"You said 'fuck,'" you tease, trying to soak in the temporary joy.
He chuckles and the sounds rumbles through his chest. "Sometimes I can be a little hypocritical, especially when it comes to protecting you."
The smile you hold fades again, and you're left with nothing but the sadness and warmth of Steve's body behind yours. "Thank you," you whisper.
Steve tightens his hold around you and presses another gentle kiss to the nape of your neck. "You don't need to thank me for telling you the truth, it's what I'm here for, and I meant every word."
The two of you lay there in silence for a while. The room stays filled only with the sounds of your delicate breathing and the occasional passing of a distant car. This time, the silence isn't agonizing though. Steve's presence makes it feel comforting, and his words make your brain go mute even if just for tonight, making the weight of the world lift just a little.
"Stevie?" you murmur, breaking the silence.
"Hmm?" he responds.
Your fingers wrap around his wrist. "Don't wanna be alone t'night," you admit.
"Then you won't be," he promises softly. "Do you want me to help you out of that dress? No pressure, of course, I was just thinking it might be more comfortable for you to sleep if you changed. I think you've still got a shirt here or you could wear one of mine, and like I said I could leave if-"
"Steve?"
"...Yes?"
"Don't think I could get out of this dress by myself right now if I wanted to, and I'd love one of your shirts."
Steve smiles at your response, relief washing over him at your comfort with him. He unwraps his arm from around you, sitting up slowly before helping you sit up. When he slides off the bed, walking over to his dresser to find a shirt, you scoot yourself slowly to the edge of the bed. Your legs dangle off the edge and your shoulders slouch as you try to keep yourself awake.
With a worn-out gray t-shirt in his hand, he walks back over to you. "Alright, sweetheart. Let me take care of you," he says.
He places the shirt on the bed and reaches behind you to unzip your dress. You allow your head to fall against his chest, trying to soak in his warmth. His movements are slow and delicate, precise too, ensuring that he doesn't cause you any discomfort.
Once the zipper is down, he leaves his hands resting on your back to help you slide off the bed. Then he slips the thin straps down your arms, allowing the dress to fall to the floor, leaving you in just your underwear.
Crystalline, icy blue eyes rake over your body for a moment as he bends down to pick up the discarded fabric. It's not a sexual ogling, and you know that; he's simply admiring you the way he has always wanted to.
Suddenly feeling bashful, you avoid his gaze. You look at anything but him or your body, opting to focus on the street lights outside the big window. He catches your slight shyness immediately and quickly tries to soothe you.
"Hey," he coos with concern written on his face, one hand resting on your waist and the other cupping your cheek, "You're perfect, angel. Are you feeling uncomfortable, do I need to step out for a minute?"
"N-no," you answer promptly and force yourself to meet his eyes. "'M jus' not used to being looked at like this."
Steve's gaze softens, clearly showing he understands the vulnerability you feel. He leans in to press a lingering kiss on your forehead. "If you let me, I'll help you get used to it- and I'll make sure you never feel unsafe or uncomfortable with me. How's that sound?"
The corners of your lips manage to quirk up into an appreciative smile. "Sounds nice, Stevie," you reply, your voice low but still audible.
Returning the same appreciative look, he picks up the t-shirt and says, "Thank you for letting me see you, and touch you, but let's get into something more comfortable for right now. You need some sleep."
You nod and raise your arms up in the air so he can slide the t-shirt onto you. It's then that you notice he'd given you the same shirt you wore the first night you ever spent the night at his place, and almost every time since then, threatening to make you cry.
The fabric is as soft against your skin as it always has been, and the scent of Steve's cologne envelops you, providing a sense of security. A warm feeling spreads through your chest at how he cares for you.
Steve takes a small step back to admire you in the shirt, and just to get another look at you. A fond smile plays on his lips as he looks you over once more. "Always has looked better on you than it does on me. Good to know it still does," he says, honesty obvious in his voice.
Again, your eyes lock with his. You search him for any sign of anything negative, coming up with nothing almost instantly. He searches you for any look or hint of discomfort, but he finds nothing other than sleepiness and adoration in your gaze.
Silence passes over the two of you like it had just mere minutes ago. The quiet environment feels even more natural and comforting than it did before, though.
He clears his throat, trying to prevent the eye contact from becoming awkward for you. "Uhm, let's get you into bed, alright?"
You step to the side so he can pull the comforter back, your hands playing with the bottom hem of the shirt. He turns to face you, and you take a wobbly step towards him, balancing yourself by placing your hands on his chest. His hand flies to your lower back to offer you more support, and you look up at him through the eyelashes of your sleepy eyes.
Slowly, tracing your way up and down his chest once, your eyes stare into him with something he'd never seen in you before. In fact, the look is so intense that it could make any man weak, he's sure of it. His eyebrows raise ever so slightly at your sudden touchiness.
"Are you feeling okay?" he asks, somehow oblivious to exactly what look it is that you're giving him.
"Mhmm," you hum, drawing out the 'hm,' with a voice laced with a soft and sleepy seduction from still being tipsy. "Y'know, 'm not thaaat tired."
"Oh? The way that you're hardly able to hold yourself up says otherwise, angel. We have all of tomorrow to talk, let me just help take care of you tonight."
A giggle slips from between your parted lips in response to his cluelessness. "S'cute when you're so sweet," you croon.
"Do you, uhm, do you need something before bed? Like an Advil maybe?"
Instead of a verbal response, you grab onto his jacket and give it a slight tug. You take a step forward, pushing him back gently to force him to sit on the bed. He looks up at you in confusion, but you don't let go of him as you slowly straddle him. With your weight being supported by your knees on the bed and his legs under you, you lean in, nuzzling your face into his neck.
"Angel, what're you-"
Your lips brush lightly under his jawline, leaving a trail of tender kisses as you gradually make your way down to under his chin.
Steve's breath hitches, and his free hand comes to rest on your waist with a delicate, but firm, grip. "O-oh," he murmurs in a sigh.
You nibble gently on his jaw. "Jus' need you," you mumble before pressing your lips to his.
He lets you kiss him, unable to resist the feeling because, well fuck, how could he?
The taste of your lips is all too familiar, and as his lips work against yours, his hands find your hips. His hold on you is secure, and it does nothing to ease the arousal building up in your stomach. You whine from the contact, and he tugs you closer, still careful to keep you steady on his lap.
His resolve weakens, and he becomes hyperaware of your vulnerable state again. So, he breaks the kiss, looking down and into your eyes.
"Y/n, I'm not sure if-" he starts, only to be interrupted by you dipping down to bite on his neck. You suck harshly on his neck as you reach down and palm him through his jeans.
A low groan emits from his chest, his voice husky when he speaks. "God, baby.â
Thoroughly enjoying the reaction he gives, you whimper against his neck. He can feel the corners of your lips turn up into a slight smile. His other hand is on the other side of your waist, gripping it firmly, as soon as you start grinding down onto his thigh. He loses himself in the moment for just a second before reminding himself of your inebriated state.
âF-Fuck,â he murmurs, his voice low and husky. âWait, wait- stop.â
You bite down once more, whining slightly before pulling away. The sensitive spot on his neck pulses, rushing with blood from the sucking and vibration. He tenses up with a mixture of both surprise and arousal at your forwardness. Then he lets both of his hands find your hips and settle on them, his hold tightening on you.
"D-did I do somethin' wrong? Did that not feel good?" you ask with a deep frown.
"No, no. That's not it, I promise; everything you've done feels amazing," Steve reassures you, quickly shutting down your negative thoughts.
Once again, he clears his throat in an attempt to regain his composure. "Angel, you're just⌠not in the best state right now. I won't take advantage of you, and I don't want you doing anything you might regret," he explains as he looks down to meet your gaze.
You're staring up at him with those big puppy dog eyes that you always use as an effective method to sway him. Tonight, though, is vastly different.
"C'mon, doll. Don't look at me like that. If you still want me in a few hours, when you're sober, that is, then I am all yours," he promises, trying to bargain with you.
You stick your lower lip out a little unintentionally, giving him the cutest pout he's ever seen. "Sober..." you repeat, looking away almost in shame as you add, "Promise you'll still want me then?"
Steve tilts your chin up with his finger and forces you to lock eyes with him. "I can promise you. I've never wanted anything more in my life than I want you. And that's never going to change."
Tantalizingly, he runs his thumb across your lower lip, a small smile playing on his lips. "But, I need you to be sure that this is what you want. I want you to remember every moment, not just bits and pieces of it, and know that everything we do is your choice," he says softly.
After taking a moment to process his words, you nod in understanding- noting the sincerity in his eyes. The room fills itself with an assortment of emotions, ranging everywhere from desire, uncertainty, and just a touch of venerable fragility.
Steve brushes a strand of hair away from your face, his expression one of soft neutrality. "Alright. Let's get you tucked in," he whispers, his voice a low murmur.
You let go of his jacket after he scoots back on the bed, bringing your knee from the other side of his leg and lying down. You curl yourself into a ball, and Steve's eyes never leave you as you do so. He takes a moment to appreciate the mere sight of you back in his bed, and a wave of warmth rushes through his chest. His earlier desires are still very much present, but so is the respect for the boundaries he set for your well-being.
He gets up briefly to pull the blankets over you before sitting down in the comfy chair in the corner of the room to take his shoes off. The chair you'd begged him to get as well to fill up the empty space in the room.
After sliding the boots under the chair, he makes his way to the dresser to change into some loose-fitting sweatpants. When he's about to put a shirt on, you grumble a 'no,' that catches his attention and makes him turn to face you.
"No?" he asks, quirking an eyebrow up questioningly.
"Nuh-uh," you respond with a shake of your head.
He chuckles lightly. "Why not?"
"Warmer without it, not a bad sight either," you say softly, following it up with a yawn.
Steve smirks in appreciation of your usual playfulness. "If you insist," he concedes, deciding to forgo the shirt. He slips the shirt back into the drawer and walks back over to the bed.
He settles himself in beside you and lifts his arm up, allowing you to scoot into his side and rest your head on his chest. Happily, you hum, soaking up his warmth and focusing on his steady heartbeat. He then reaches down with his free hand to pull the blanket over himself.
"Uncomfortable?" you murmur, sleep laced in your voice.
"No, I'll be alright as long as you're comfortable."
A second passes by before you speak again. "Thank you."
"For what, angel?"
"For being so...you."
You feel Steve's chest rise and fall with a deep, contented sigh. His fingers trace slow circles on your back through your shirt. "Always," he whispers, his soft voice lulling you even closer to sleep.
The room stays wrapped in a soothing silence, the only sounds heard being the quiet breaths from both of you. As you lay there trying to sleep, you can't help but marvel at the man beside you. Everything about him is truly perfect, from his basic concern for your well-being to the way he has always taken care of you.
Your eyes begin to feel heavy, slowly shutting fully as you find yourself on the brink of slumber. Just before you succumb to sleep, you muster up the energy to mumble, "Steve?"
"Hmm?" he responds, his chest rumbling under your cheek.
"'M glad it's you."
"Wouldn't trade you for anything, sweetheart," he murmurs, placing a kiss on the top of your head. "And, for the record, I'm glad it's you too."
Steve continues to run his fingers over your back as you fall asleep. His fingers create a rhythmic pattern that mirrors the peaceful in and out of your breathing, only making your rest more soothing. He looks down at you and smiles to himself, reveling in the sheer joy of having you back, even if it's only for tonight.
Often the weight of his responsibilities feels too heavy to bear, but with you, there's a sense of solace that transcends the chaos of the outside world. Everything about you and your presence is a sanctuary. It's all a nice reminder that, after everything he does for everyone else, he's worthy of a little tranquility at the end of the day too.
Steve presses another gentle kiss into your hair before closing his eyes, savoring the sweet moment. "Goodnight, angel."
He hears your tired, softly grumbled response before he falls asleep. Though he tries not to let himself get too wrapped up in the moment, too used to your presence again, he does anyway. If there is anything he wants for the rest of his life, it's you next to him.
  "Are you going out again? âNatasha asked you from her spot in the chair, her question made that everyone else who was sitting around the table lifted their heads to look at you, many eyes were on you waiting for an answer.
"Yes, Iâm going to meet a friendâ You said trying to sound as calm as possible.
âAnd who is this friend of yours? Do you know this friend of her kid?â Tony asked Peter whose head eagerly shook.
âI have friends outside here, why are you interrogating me?â You asked with a frown, but you didnât want to seem suspicious so you quickly changed that frown into a smile.
âWe just want to make sure youâre alrightâ Said Wanda who was sitting next to Natasha, Wanda nodded her head and she looked at you with an expectant look on her face.
âWell, you do not have to worry about that, because Iâm alrightâ You said with a smile in your face, that wasnât a lie, you were doing really fine, more than fine actually.
âSo, then, tell us, who is this friend of yours?â Natasha inquired while she raised one of her eyebrows, you tried to calm yourself, you didnât want to lie to Nat, but you had to, you couldnât tell them who you were going to meet because you knew how they would react, you really hated lying to Nat and to Wanda, but this time you didnât have any other option.
You really couldnât tell them her name, she was not even your friend, you were going to see Agatha your girlfriend, but you knew they were not too keen on her, you really couldnât tell them if you wanted to, so you had to come up with a fake name, but why it was suddenly too hard to think of a name? Everyone around the table looked at you patiently waiting for an answer, Tony was crossing his arms with a frown on his face, Natasha was raising an eyebrow, You could see Peterâs expression full of curiosity, Wanda was frowning and her hands were on the table, you were sure she was trying to read your mind, but thanks to your powers you were able to stop her from entering into your mind, you were glad about that.
âHer name is Agnesâ You blurted out; you really hoped the believed you.
âWhat is her last name?â Natasha asked, what were you supposed to say? If you came up with a fake one and they found out there was an actual person with that name, they would investigate that person, you had to think of something else.
âI wonât tell you because everything you will do will be to look for her on social media and try to hack into her accounts, and just so you know she doesnât have any social media, but still, I wonât tell you, also Itâs getting really late and I have to meet her, see you laterâ You quickly walked away from them and went straight to the lift, leaving them with more questions than answers.
âDo you know whoâs Agnes kid?â Â Asked Tony when you left the room.
âNo Mr. Stark, I donât know, Iâm surprised I donât even know about this girl, she tells me everything, but now the only thing she told me was that she had met someone at the library some months agoâ Peter said recalling what had happened.
âSome months ago!? When were you planning on telling us?â Natasha snarled; Peter just blinked a little before speaking again.
âI didnât think it was important at the timeâ Peter explained, he never really thought too much about it.
âAlright but, you could have told us that y/n had met someone, we just want to make sure sheâs alright, we just realized that sheâs dating someone a few weeks ago thanks to Steve, and now sheâs not telling us about this secret personâ Natasha kept saying and her girlfriend Wanda agreed with her, that was true, they just wanted to make sure you were alright.
âDid you catch a glimpse of who could it be?â Natasha asked her girlfriend a second later.
âNo, she was blocking me, she didnât let me, sheâs really good at it, now she blocks her mind almost all the time, she really doesnât want us to know whoâs this girl, but I donât understand why?â Wanda asked with a frown, you didnât use to keep secrets from them.
âMaybe because last time you intimidated the last girl she was seeing, she didnât talk to y/n again, because she told y/n that you scared the shit out of her and she didnât want to have problems with the Avengers?â Peter reasoned
âLanguage!â Said Steve who was entering to the dining room
âThat was different kid, that girl was suspiciousâ Tony argued, he had been there when they went to look for you because you werenât answering your phone and they were too worried about you.
âHeâs right Peter, that girl was too suspicious, the day we went to look for y/n and her at that coffee shop we found that girl searching for something in y/nâs back-packâ Wanda nodded, Nat was right, that girl was really weird and when they told you about what they had seen, you had felt really bad, you thought that girl was different.
âFair enoughâ Said Peter and Tony, Natasha and Wanda nodded at the same time.
âDid she leave again? This is the fourth time in a weekâ Steve commented while he took a sit next to Wanda and Natasha.
âThe fourth time? I thought this was the second time, two days ago I found her talking to someone on the phone and when I walked closer to her to listen to what she was saying she quickly stopped talking, I asked her who she was talking to and she just told me âNo oneâ and with that she quickly leftâ Natasha recalled the events of some days ago.
âLast Monday when Bucky and I went for some snacks and we were driving down the street a few blocks away from here, we saw y/n coming out from a black car, we supposed it was one of her friends from college but, now that youâre talking about this, it was really weird to see that car parked a few blocks away from here, why wouldnât she just decided to leave y/n here at the front of the building?â Now that Steve thought about it he really found it really strange, what were you hiding?
âWhy didnât you tell us that Steve? None of her friends from college owns a carâ Natasha said while standing from her sit to grab a drink from the fridge
âMiss Romanoff´s right we always take the bus or we just walkâ Peter rushed to say
âCould it be that this 'Agnesâ was the one who drove her?â This time Wanda was asking, they were not sure why all this secrecy about this girl.
âMaybe it was one of our professors who drove her hereâ Peter interrupted; it could be that.
âWhat do you mean Peter?â Wanda squinted her eyes at him, what was that supposed to mean?
Everyone there turned their heads to look at him
âWell thereâs this English professor, her nameâs Dottie and Iâve seen the way she looks at y/n, Ned and I share that class with y/n and weâve seen how professor Dottie comes looking for her or the way she speaks to her, she´s always attentive with y/n, Ned says Mrs. Dottie really likes y/n,  one day I was talking with y/n in the hall when classes finished and Mrs. Dottie came to where we were and she asked y/n if she needed a lift, maybe Mrs. Dottie asked her that on Monday and y/n agreed, because last Monday she left early because she said she had to go to the library, but that she would come back a little later to the tower, maybe that´s why you saw her on Mondayâ Peter said recalling what had happened on Monday.
"Are you saying that this woman, whoâs y/nâs professor flirts with her?â Natasha was shocked just as everyone else in the room.
âI wouldnât say that, y/n always says that sheâs just being nice to her, also you know sheâs the best of her class, teachers like herâ
âPeter, thereâs one big difference between being nice and being a flirt with someoneâ Natasha told him, she was shocked, why hadnât you told her or Wanda what had been going on? Wanda sensed her girlfriend´s state and she put her hand on Natasha´s shoulder and gave it a soft squeeze.
âWhat if sheâs dating her professor and she just doesnât want us to find out?â Steve asked, he couldnât believe it, you were not the one to keep secrets.
âIs y/n dating one of her professors?â A surprised voice was heard from the door and everyone saw Scott Lang standing there.
âWe donât know that yet, but what if sheâs dating her?â Wanda asked to everyone with a concerned look on her face.
âWell that would be really cool, right? Isnât it what everyone wishes? To date one of their teachers? Good for herâ Scott commented while he sat down next to Steve, Scot had a grin on his face while he moved his hands.
Everyone around the table looked at him with a serious look on their faces; Natasha, Wanda, Tony and Steve had an annoyed expression on their faces.
âWhat? No? Is it not good? No? Well then not good for her?â Scott tried to change what he had said.
Peter couldnât help himself and he laughed at Scott.
âI just thought that maybe, every young person had the fantas-â
âPlease stop, just, stopâ Said Wanda with a frown on her face.
Tony took off his glasses and he brought his free hand to rub his face a little.
âAlright, alright Iâm sorryâ Lang said while lifting his hands in the air.
âI donât really think that y/nâs been dating Mrs. Dottieâ Peter suddenly said to the others, his hand on his chin as he seemed to be thinking about that possibility.
âWhy do you think that Peter?â Wanda and Natasha rushed to ask, they were really concerned about you, they just didnât want that someone would play with you, they really loved you and if someone broke your heart Natasha and Wanda would make sure that person never forget what they did to you.
âI just donât think y/n is into her, she always declines Mrs. Dottie apologetically and never stays too long talking to herâ
âWhat if y/n does that so that no one in her class suspects about what is going on between them, what if it is just an alibi to make everyone believe they donât have something going on between them?â Scott nodded and looked at everyone with a smirk.
âI think you watch too much TV Langâ Tony said shaking his hand
âMaybe youâre rightâ Scot said with a thoughtful expression on his face.
âAlright, alright, what can we do now? y/nâs not going to tell us whoâs this person sheâs been seeingâ Steve said while he put both of his arms on the table.
âWe need to do something to know who sheâs dating, we donât know nothing about this person, what if this girl just wants to take advantage of her? What if sheâs evil and wants to manipulate y/n? There are many possibilities, what if itâs an infiltrated of Hydra? We have to keep y/n safeâ Steve was serious, everyone could see his expression, when it came to you, everything was important for everyone, you were important for them, you were the youngest one and you were part of their family.
âThatâs what weâve been saying Steve, but she even blocks her mind when Wandaâs aroundâ Natasha placed her hand on Wandaâs knee.
âWhat if we follow to one of her dates, like an undercover operationâ Scott shrugged and he raised his eyebrows, everyone in the room lifted ther heads to look at him with a shocked expression on their faces.
âWhat? No? I just thought that maybe-â
âThatâs actually an amazing ideaâ Steve agreed with him and Scott couldnât hide his excitement that the Captain America had liked his idea.
âHeâs right, we can follow her the next time she goes out again, but we have to plan everything, we can start now that she´s not here, Scott, we will need your help in this, would you like to help?â Natasha looked straight into his eyes waiting for an answer.
âYou scare me a lot, but I´m on it, this is so exciting, I want to know who y/n´s secret date is, is like trying to guess who´s your secret Santa, but with someone elses relationshipâ Scott started to talk his excitement was visible.
âYes right? I want to be part of this tooâ Peter told while looking at Tony
âI´m not sure, can you keep the secret?â Tony asked him with a serious look on his face
âI promise Mr. Stark I won´t say a thing about spying on y/n´s date, maybe we can put a name to this mission like-â
âOperation little widow? Little witch?â Scott interrupted and Peter´s eyes widened and he raised his eyebrows.
âWhat about operation Little Widow-witch?â  Peter asked with a grin on his face.
âThat sounds amazing, now that we have a name for this operation, we can start planning thisâ Lang leant on the table and he placed his elbows on the table and his chin on his hands.
âAlright but why did you name this Operation Little Widow-witch?â Natasha inquired and Wanda squinted her eyes to look at him with a curious expression.
âIsn´t it obvious? You treat Y/n like she´s your daughter, she´s always wandering around you two as if she was your daughter, also she has powers similar to Wanda´s, the only difference is that she still can´t read minds, also Nat you have trained her a lot, she knows everything about combat thanks to you, you´re like her daughterâ Scott said as a matter of fact while shrugging, it was obvious for him.
Nat and Wanda smiled at each other when they heard this, he was right, the three of you acted like that, when they rescued you from Hydra agents  when you were just thirteen, they got attached to you and you to them, you loved everyone, of course everyone was your family but you felt really attached to the two of them, Wanda and Nat had taken you under their wing, Wanda helped you to control your powers, you had improved a lot, but still there was a part of you that refused to read other people´s mind, you werenât sure why you couldnât do it, but Wanda was sure it was something deep inside you that wasnât letting you, but she knew that with time and with her help and the help of her girlfriend Nat, you were going to be able to do it.
When Natasha saw you for the first time you looked so scared, they had experimented on you and they had treated you like you were nothing, you had trust issues and you were so scared to even look at them that it broke Natasha´s heart, she just wanted to protect you just like Wanda, when you used to have nightmares, and still from time to time you had them, but at the start you used to suffer alone, you didnât let anyone near you, Natasha and Wanda tried to get closer to you, they wanted to help you, but you didnât let them, until one day, when you had a nightmare and they were surprised when you knocked on their door and you told them how you felt, of course they let you in, and since that day you knew you were safe with them, you really loved them, they were your home.
Natasha and Wanda felt a little heartbroken because you used to tell them everything, you even told them when you started to like someone and you were not sure what to do, the two of them always tried to help you and they always supported you, they would never judge you and you knew that, and they couldnât help but feel conflicted, they just wanted to make sure no one would hurt you.
âAlright let plan this, I just, I don´t want that she ends up hurt againâ Wanda said and Natasha took her hand on hers, she caressed the back of her girlfriend´s hand with her thumb.
âWe will make sure she doesnât get hurt Wandsâ Natasha said to her with a loving look on her face
・ Ë ď¸śď¸śâŠď¸śď¸ś â Ë ď¸śď¸śâŠď¸śď¸ś ・Ë・ Ë ď¸śď¸śâŠď¸śď¸ś â Ë ď¸śď¸śâŠď¸śď¸ś ・Ë
You entered to the nice and beautiful coffee shop, you had to take a taxi to arrive faster, it was already late and you didnât want to take more time by taking the bus.
Entering to the cozy place you saw your girlfriend sitting in one of the chairs that was behind a table next to the window, you quickly came to her and when she saw you Agatha´s face lit up.
âI´m sorry I´m this late, Nat, Wanda and Tony kept interrogating me about who I was coming to seeâ You said to your girlfriend with an apologetically look on your face, Agatha stood up from the chair to hug you and you hugged her back, she smelled your perfume and she loved it, you felt Agatha´s hand stroking your hair in a soft way, when you separated from her a little Agatha placed both of her hands on your waist and you gave her a soft peck on her lips, your hands were on her shoulders, you really loved her so much.
âIt´s alright doll, you do not have to worryâ Agatha reassured you and she took your hand to guide you to your seat; she pulled the chair out for you to sit and you smiled, Agatha was really attentive to you and you loved it, you sat in the chair and Agatha went to her seat in front of you, Agatha took your hand in hers and she started to caress the back of your hand with her thumb, you felt so happy with her, you really wished you could tell everyone you were her girlfriend, but you knew how everyone in the team was going to react, and you knew how Nat and Wanda would react, they would be so angry and you didnât want that, you were conflicted on what do.
âWhat´s wrong doll?â You were distracted by her question and you saw the concerned look on her face, the moment you see her worried look you felt like crying.
âIt´s alright my love, it´s alrightâ Agatha stood up from her seat and she came next to you, you moved a little to the right so that she could sit next to you, you felt her arm hugging you by your waist and she pulled you closer to her, she rested her free hand on your face and you instantly leant into her, you hid your face into the crook of her neck and you let the tears roll down your eyes, you couldnât hold them anymore.
âIt´s just that I don´t want to hide what we have, and I don´t want to keep lying to Nat and Wanda, and the others, I feel so bad for hiding, but, I don´t know what else to do, I know how they´re going to react if they know about us, and I don´t want to lose youâ You sobbed into her neck and Agatha rubbed your back with her hand.
âI know doll, I know how you feel and you don´t know how much it hurts me to see you like this, this is my fault, for what I did in my past now you´re suffering, I don´t want to lose you either, you´re the best that happened to me, I just want you to be with me and I know that if your family finds out that you´re with me, they will be really mad, but sweetheart I don´t mind hiding with you, I love you and that won´t change, and the fact that we have to hide doesnât bother me, you´re everything I need, I just wish I could make you feel better, I want to make you happyâ You were really in love with her, you had fallen for her, but how couldnât you? She was so sweet and kind to you, she always treated you with so much love and you loved it, you loved her. Agatha brought her hand to your face and she wiped your tears away.
âIt´s not your fault, also you´ve changed, you´re not the same you used to be, I want to tell them, to tell them that you´ve changed, and that you make me really happy butâ You paused thinking about your next words, the soft touch of Agatha on your face helped you to calm yourself, her touch was soothing.
âBut you know they´re not going to believe youâ Agatha finished your sentence in soft-spoken way and you nodded against her shoulder, she was right, you were sure they were not going to believe you and they were not going to trust you.
You sighed and moved yourself way from her a little to look at her face, she had a sad look on her face and you didnât like it, you knew she felt guilty because of what she had done, but she wasn´t that person anymore, it was not her fault, in the past everybody was afraid of her and people had isolated her, she just wanted power because it was what it made her feel she was in control of everything, she was hurt and you knew now she regretted everything she had done, but she wasnât that person anymore, and you knew she would never hurt you or your family, you completely love her, and you really didnât want to lose what you two had, you were so in love with Agatha.
âI love you so much, and I wished everyone could see that youâre not the same person you used to be, you´re so much more than your pastâ Agatha smiled at you, she loved you so much, you were her entire life, you were her light, and the most important thing is that you saw her for who she really was, you didnât care about her past mistakes, you understood her in a whole different way that no one had done it before, you were so amazing and you didnât care for what she had done, Agatha knew you loved her no matter what, Agatha didnât want to lose you.
âYou don´t know how much I love you y/n, you mean the world to me, if hiding means that we get to keep our relationship, I will hide with you, no matter what my love, I love you so muchâ You felt so loved, she made you really happy, you just wanted this to last forever, she took your face in her hands and she pressed a kiss to your lips, it was a soft kiss, her lips moved against yours, her skin was so soft and you could smell her perfume all over her, it was a mix of vanilla and a cinnamon scent, you loved it, her breath was hot and you felt it against your skin, her hands romanced through your lower back until finally she placed them on your waist.
When you broke the kiss due to the lack of air, you smiled at her and she could see the loving expression on her eyes, her eyes were beaming with joy and you were sure yours too.
âDo you want to order now? I know we have little time to spend together, but I love having these dates with you, this coffee is so amazing, I´m so glad you took me here on our first date, is my favorite place nowâ You said to her while you caressed the skin of her neck.
âI love these dates too doll, I love the time we spend together, it doesnât matter if we just get to spend little time, I enjoy it and I treasure every moment I pass with you, let´s order my loveâ Agatha said while she softly stroked your head with her right hand, you nodded and she pressed a soft kiss on your forehead.
The evening passed with you and Agatha sharing the slices of cake you had ordered, she had ordered a slice of cheesecake and you ordered your favorite one, between laughs and stories about your day and questions of what the other had done in the two days you didnât see each other, you passed hours there.
âYou want some more baby girl?â Agatha asked you pointing to her coffee on the table, you nodded and you took the mug and took a sip, it was really good, you loved that you and her shared what you ordered, it was something that you enjoyed doing with her, it reminded you that the little actions showed how much you loved each other.
A beeping sound distracted you from the special moment and you felt sad, it was your alarm what had sounded, you took your phone out and you saw the hour on the screen of your phone, it was 6:00 pm already, the three hours passed so quickly.
âIt feels like we just passed one hour and a half togetherâ You said with a sad look on your face.
âI know baby girl, it´s not enough but we can meet again whenever you want, you know that and we can keep texting or making phone calls, I love your voice, so I prefer phone callsâ She reassured you, she was right, you could keep meeting in the next days, just like you´ve been doing for the past months.
âIt´s pretty late doll, I will take you to your homeâ She asked for the bill to the waitress and then she gave the money to the young woman.
âBut what if they see us?â You asked with a worried look on your face, you weren´t sure if they will be waiting for you or looking through the large windows waiting for the exact moment when you arrived.
âThey won´t and I won´t let that you go alone at this hour, I don´t want anything to happen to youâ Agatha saw you were going to argue back but she softly pressed a finger on your lips.
âI know that you can perfectly defend yourself baby girl, but I will feel better if I´m the one who takes you home, alright?â You smiled and you just nodded, you really loved her so much.
Agatha stood from her sit and she stretched her hand out for you to take it, you happily took her hand and you walked outside the coffee shop, she guided you to where she had parked her car and then she opened the door for you to enter.
âThank you so muchâ You said to her while she held the door open for you and your girlfriend waited until you were sitting inside to close the door.
âPut the seatbelt on dollâ You quickly nodded and you did what she told you to do, Agatha did the same and she smiled at you.
You wished the car ride would have been longer, but sadly it lasted just fifteen minutes, Agatha parked the car some blocks behind your home, the same spot she had parked last Monday, Agatha sighed and she turned her head to look at you, she took your hand in hers and you smiled at her.
âI will see you in two days alright?â Agatha asked you and you nodded.
âCan we meet again at the same coffee shop? I want to try the lemon cheesecake this timeâ Agatha giggled and she nodded
âAlright doll, at the same coffee shop I´ll see you, the same hour?â She asked you never dropping your hand.
âYes, at the same hourâ You smiled and gave her a last kiss, you didnât want the kiss to end but you had to go, breaking the kiss you gave a last squeeze to Agatha´s hand and with that you opened the car door to get out of it, you waved your hand at her and gave her one last smile, you started to walk to your home and Agatha stayed there watching you, she didnât leave until she was sure you had entered to the building, when she saw you had already entered she finally left, she was waiting to meet you again in two days.
 "Mr. Stark, Miss y/n has entered the buildingâ Friday announced
âShe has arrived! She will be entering at any momentâ Yelled Peter while he started to panic, he took some papers in his hands from the table and he put them inside his backpack.
âAlright, alright everyone, act as if we werenât planning something, I will go to the couch, someone turn the tv on!â Scott said while he went to throw himself in the couch, Peter ran after him and he did the same, he threw himself in the other couch and he turned the big tv on.
Wanda and Natasha just looked at each other with and amused expression on their faces, they clearly didnât know how to hide something.
Tony just rolled his eyes and Steve shook his head; they just hoped you didnât notice anything.
Steve walked to the fridge to take a bottle of cold water while Wanda and Natasha walked towards the living room and they sat side by side, Natasha passed her arm around Wandaâs shoulders and Wanda rested her head on Natâs chest.
Peter put on a movie and they started to watch what played on the screen; They heard the door of the lift being opened letting them know that you had arrived.
You slowly walked out of the lift and you went to the kitchen to grab something to drink.
âIâm backâ You announced a little shy, you hoped they wouldnât bring the Agnes topic again.
âOh, hey y/n we didnât see you had just comeâ Peterâs voice came out a little too loud, you chuckled and didnât mind him.
Steve was on the kitchen drinking some coffee and you went to the fridge to take a bottle of cold water.
âThereâs still hot coffee in there if you want some kidâ He told you pointing to the coffee machine
âOh no thank you, I think had too much coffeeâ You said to him while you took out one bottle out from the fridge.
âOh really? What type of coffee did you have?â Steve asked nonchalantly before taking a big sip of his coffee.
On the other side of the table was Tony reading a magazine acting as if he wasnât paying attention to what you were saying.
âI had a cappuccinoâ You calmly answered before drinking some of your water.
âGreat, cappuccinos are really greatâ Steve commented and you smiled at him, he was right.
âWhat are you watching?â You asked when you arrived at the living room.
âOh, hi Scott, I didnât know you were hereâ You smiled at the man when you noticed he was sitting in one of the couches.
âHey y/n, I came here over an hour ago, but I think it will be better if I go now, Hope wonât like if I donât arrive early, so, it would be better if I just leave, I can come back another dayâ He quickly stood from his place at the couch and you nodded at him.
âBye Scott, say Hi to Hope and Cassie for me, would you?â
âSure, maybe next time theyâll come with me, they miss youâ You felt your heart melting at that, Hopeâs a really cool and badass person, you really liked talking to her about different types of technology and Cassie always made you laugh with her jokes, she was so much like his father, the three of them were a really nice family.
âI miss them tooâ You answered and Scott smiled back at you, he said his good-byes at everyone after leaving.
âDo you want to sit here y/n?â Natasha asked you while patting the empty spot on the couch next to her.
âOf courseâ You nodded and she smiled at you, Natasha missed passing time with you, lately you were busy with homework and now you used to go out many times a week, she was proud of you, of the confident person you had grown to be, but she still missed to comfort you when you had a nightmare, Wanda felt the same, she missed you as well, she was happy that you felt good enough to hang out, but she missed when you would ask them if they wanted to go with you to buy something, they were really happy for you, but at the same time they were worried, they didn´t want that someone hurt you.
Natasha remembered that time of that girl that used to date you, that awful girl who just invited you out because she had wanted to know the black widow, she was obsessed with her and that girl had hurt you, it had broken her heart the look on your face when you told her she had just asked you out to see if you she could get near Natasha, you had cried for days.
Wanda read her girlfriend´s thoughts and she gave Nat a knowing look she used her powers to say to Natasha that they would do everything they could to protect you, Nat heard this in her mind and she nodded, you took sit next to Nat and she placed her arm around your shoulders, you rested your head on her shoulder, you missed passing time with them so this was recomforting, you really loved your family.
Today was Sunday, two days after you had gone out and Wanda noticed you were preparing your backpack on your room, so she assumed you were going to go out again, she quickly told Natasha this and Natasha said to Tony that you were going out again, he quickly called Scott.
âScott, Operation Little Widow-witch will take place today, can you come here now?â Asked Tony on the phone, he nodded and then he hung up.
âWhat did he say?â Natasha eagerly asked.
âHe´s coming, we need to do something before y/n´s leaves the tower, where is she?â Tony asked with wide eyes, he just hoped you hadnât left yet.
âMr. Stark, y/n just entered to the liftâ Peter said in a hurry
âAlright, alright I will make the engines stop, this can give us some time until Scott arrivesâ
Suddenly they heard a buzzing sound and then Scott appear out of thin air in front them.
âWow, those flying ants are really fastâ Scott was in his usual Ant-man suit
"Alright Scott so, you have everything you need?â Tony eyed him while he asked him
âYes, I have the camera here, Hope did a great job with this, she also told me to give you this, with this thing you will be able to see what Iâm seeing, and to hear what Iâm hearingâ Lang handed them a small screen and a mic
âThe mic is for you to talk to me; I will be able to hear youâ His excitement was visible.
âWe will be watching everything from here, good luck Scott, and thank youâ Wanda told him and he nodded
âSheâs waiting inside the lift, go Scottâ Tony said to him and Lang nodded again, he made himself small again, he called the flying ant back to take him to you, and when he was closer enough the lift, he jumped off the ant and entered to the lift through the gap under the metal door.
He saw you there standing in the middle of it waiting for the lift to start working again, he used one of his hooks to clip himself to your backpack, step one had been a success.
Meanwhile Natasha, Wanda, Tony and Steve were watching everything on the Screen they had, they werenât waiting for anything to happen until the hear a ring, the recognized it was your phone, they couldnât watch at all since Scott was hanging on your backpack, but they knew someone had called you, but they were eager to know what you´ll say.
âHi! Yes, I´m already in the lift, so I will be arriving there in Fifteen minutes, yes, I will walk safely, love you too, see you thereâ
Everyone was shocked, have you told this person you loved them? They were right that you were not seeing just a friend.
You left the building and you walked through the streets, after minutes of walking you finally arrived at the coffee shop, there you saw Agathaâs car and walked past it, Scott who was hanging on your backpack, his camera on his suit focused a black car.
âThat´s the car Bucky and I saw y/n stepping out of it last Mondayâ Steve commented while looking at the same car that had brought you days ago, Natasha would have liked to see the vehicle´s license plate number, but you walked closer and Scott was trying not to fall to the ground.
You walked faster and Scott didnât get the time to hold your backpack stronger so he fell to the floor, the time he hit the floor he heard the sound glass breaking, that´s when he knew the camera had broken down.
âScott, Scott we lost the image, are you alright?â Natasha quickly said to him into the microphone
âI know sorry about that and yes I´m alright, the fall wasnât that badâ They heard the tiny man grunting
âNow Scott you will be our eyes and ears, tell us what you seeâ Steve told him after some minutes
"Got it captainâ Scott replied Â
He quickly got up from the floor and he ran down towards some stairs that led to the coffee shop, he entered to the coffee shop through the gap under the floor.
âAlright so she entered to this Coffee Shop called Westview, thatâs a cool name, wow guys itâs really cool here, the lamps are so pretty, it reminds me of that places that  are announced in magazines where you can come here when you donât want nobody to find you, this place is kind of hidden in the street, there were stairs to arrive here, guys oh my god, look at how many flowers are here, I hope there are no bees, wait Iâve never ridden a bee, change of plans I do Hope there are bees hereâ
Natasha rubbed her hands against her face and Wanda softly rubbed her arm trying to calm her down a little.
âScott, please focusâ Said Natasha and Steve at the same time
âYes, sorryâ
âDo you see y/n anywhere?â  Wanda asked into the mic.
âNo guys, I canât see anything from this- Wait, Iâm seeing her right now, sheâs hugging someone, but I canât see well, Iâll have to go there waitâ Scott started to run right towards the table you were in.
âIâm tired guys, this is too muchâ Said Scott out of breath from running.
âAlright guys, Iâm here, Iâll have to climb up the sit, this is too exciting, Guys I bet 50 dollars thatâs her professorâ Scott said
・ Ë ď¸śď¸śâŠď¸śď¸ś â Ë ď¸śď¸śâŠď¸śď¸ś ・Ë・ Ë ď¸śď¸śâŠď¸śď¸ś â Ë ď¸śď¸śâŠď¸śď¸ś ・Ë
âIâm really sorry, the lift stopped working for some minutes and I had to wait until it worked again, sorry for making you wait"Â You said to Agatha with a worried look on your face
âItâs alright doll, Iâm glad you made it here, howâs everything at home?â She asked you while holding your hands
âDoll?â Scott muttered to himself, of course everyone who was in the compound listened what he said.
âDoll?â Everyone in the tower repeated, Natasha frowned and looked at Wanda, Steve, Tony and Peter exchanged confused stares.
âScott whatâs going on?â Wanda rushed to ask him
âWell, for what I heard, this woman calls y/n doll, and she asked her about how things are at homeâ
âDefinitely thatâs not Mrs. Dottie, she doesnât call y/n like thatâ Commented Peter who was now more curious about this woman
âSo, what exactly could have y/n told her about things here at home? That means that she Talks about us, right?â Wondered Tony while he put his hand to his chin.
âGuys shut up for a moment, thereâs a lot of voices, I canât hear what theyâre talking about, I will climb up the table, to have a better look, waitâ He told them while he tried to go up the table.
âThings are fine, Peter is staying for some days at the tower and itâs pretty cool, I like showing him many different new songs I discover,  Wanda and Nat are alright too, we watched a movie the other day, I really love them, and Iâm glad they havenât asked anything about you, you know  about where I go out, I really donât like when I lie to them, it makes me feel bad, last time I told them I was going to meet 'Agnesââ You giggled a little remembering the name you had given.
âAgnes?â Agatha laughed at that.
âYes, you known itâs sort of your name and your last name combined, kind of, I didnât come up with something else, I panickedâ you laughed at that
âItâs alright baby girl, that was smart, Iâm glad they havenât asked anything elseâ She said to you with a soft smile on her face.
Scott was hiding under the table in a crack on the wooden table with a shocked expression on his face and his hand was covering his mouth.
âGuys, you wonât believe this, the name 'Agnesâ she told you isnât a real nameâ He said with wide eyes
âOh my god, I knew it!â said Natasha closing her eyes
âScott, quickly you need to see whoâs there with y/nâ Wanda said into the microphone.
âYes, yes, Iâm on that wait a littleâ Scott started to walk through the metal bars of the table ready to jump onto the table,
"Are you alright doll? You know you can tell me everythingâ She brought one of your hands to her lips and she kissed the back of it.
âI know, itâs just that I really love spending time with you and just like the other day I told you, I feel awful about, I feel awful that we have to hide, I really wish you could come with me to the tower,  I want that they get to know the real you, I want to be able to tell Nat and Wanda how much you make me happy, I want to tell ask them many things about a relationship I want to, but I know I canâtâ You said closing your eyes
âItâs alright baby girl, I understand everything, You donât have to feel guilty, I know that theyâre not going to take this well, and I canât blame them, After what I did, itâs understandable they wouldnât trust me, and yes I donât like at all that I have to hide your my girlfriend, I love you so much and I would love to take you to many different places, I would love to do many things with you, but I know we canât, and if that means-â
âIf that means we can keep seeing each other itâs alrightâ You finished her sentence
After listening that Scott felt a little guilty for spying on you, but this was not the time to back off, he thought, he had a mission to accomplish; Scott arrived at the top of the table and his sight was being covered by a mug.
âOh, c'monâ Said Scott lifting his hands in the air.
âWhatâs going?â Tony tasked him.
âThere was a mug covering the sight, but now Iâm able to-â
Scott gasped and everyone there started to panic, have you noticed him? What if you have noticed this.
âScott whatâs going on?â Steve asked with a worried tone.
âLang? Lang? Are you there?â Natasha asked taking the mic into her hands
âMr. Lang?*Â Asked Peter coming next to Natasha.
"Scott what the hell happened?â Tony came rushing to Peterâs side
âScott this is not the time for games, this is importantâ Wanda quickly came next to Natashaâs side.
âSHHHHHH! Everybody shut upâ Scott hissed after some seconds and everyone felt silent, it felt like hours but it had just happened two minutes
âPromise, you wonât freak outâ He asked them into his microphone.
âWhat is it Langâ Wandaâs accent was thick; she was clearly annoyed.
âGuys you have to promise you wonât freak outâ The tiny man asked again, Natasha was clearly annoyed and she was about to say something back to him, but Peter took the mic from her hands.
âIâm sorry Miss Romanoffâ Peter whispered
âWe promise we wonât freak out"Â Said Peter to Scott
âAlright, alright, here we goâ Scott took a deep breath and he blinked several times
âYou remember that witch who tried to take Wandaâs powers three years ago?â
Scott had to take the earphone out of his ear because a sharp sound hit him, it was too loud as if something had shattered against the floor, when he put it back into his ear, he didnât hear anything for minutes, everything was silent.
âUm, guys? Hello? Did my microphone break? Whatâs wrong with this thing?â He decided to sat at in the plate under the mug, and he started to check his Equipment.
A loud crash made you jump a little in your seat.
ây/n!?â You knew that voice, you knew very well that voice, your eyes went wide open, Natashaâs voice was clearly worried but you were sure she was really mad as well.
How did they find you? This was wrong, this was what you tried to avoid for the past months, this was all wrong, you knew they would come for Agatha so you quickly stood up from your seat and placed yourself next to Agatha.
You saw a really angry Natasha with her black suit on, Wanda was clearly mad too, her eyes and hands were glowing red, Steve was on his Captain America suit just as well as Tony was in his Iron man suit, they were all coming towards the two of you.
âY/n, come here, stay away from herâ Wanda told you when she was close enough to you, her accent was really strong, you knew she was really, really mad, her eyes glowing red and Natasha was next to her with her hand on her hip, she was ready to take her gun out at any moment.
âNoâ You firmly said but, on the inside, you were shaking, you were terrified, you didnât want them to hurt Agatha.
âWhat do you mean no?â Natasha frowned, oh she looked so annoyed.
âIt means Iâm staying here with herâ You said with a lot of courage
âItâs alright doll you donât need to-â
âDonât ever call her like that again!â You heard Wanda saying to her
âDonât hurt her, sheâs done nothing wrongâ You quickly said back to Wanda
âSheâs evil, donât you know what she did years ago?â Natasha argued and her hands squeezed into fists.
âShe has changed! Sheâs not like that anymoreâ You huffed, running your hand through your hair.
âSheâs manipulating you, I bet she just wants your powersâ Wanda raised her chin
âThat´s not true! I really love y/nâ Said Agatha standing from her sit, she was not going to sit there just listening to them doubting her love for you.
âThatâs not true!â Said Natasha coming closer to you, you were afraid of what could happen, you didnât want Agatha and them getting into a fight.
âShe tried to steal my powers, how are we not sure she wants to do the same to you y/n?â Wanda asked coming closer too.
âThat was different, back at that time you didnât even know how to control your powers, I just suggested you to give them to me, a more experienced witchâ Agatha said back
âAgatha that´s not helping!â You yelled at her, you couldnât believe it what she had just said, it was definitely not the right moment for that talk.
âI´m sorry, I´m sorry, but she´s right I´m not the same I used to be, I´ve changed and I truly love y/n, I would never do anything to hurt herâ Agatha took your hand in hers giving it a soft squeeze.
âWe can´t trust youâ Steve grunted.
âThey´re right, we can´t really trust you, so you better back offâ Tony snapped while walking closer.
âHow did you even find me?â You questioned them and, in that moment, Scott appeared out of nowhere in the sit in front of you.
âScott? You followed me?â You didnât believe it
âI´m sorry y/nâ He said with a shy smile, and you saw in his hands were some earbuds, you were sure it was an intercom.
âWere you spying on me?â You felt betrayed, they have been overhearing everything.
âWe did it because we wanted to be sure who you were seeing, we just don´t want that you get your heart broken!â Natasha said to you
âI think It would have been better if you had been seeing your English teacher and not herâ You heard Ant-man saying pointing at your girlfriend.
âMrs. Dottie?â You asked with a frown, why was he talking about her, more like, how did he know your English teacher.
âWhat is he talking about sweetheart?â Agatha asked you and she was about to put her hand on your shoulder.
âDon´t you dare touch her, I won´t say it again Agatha, back offâ Wanda said her hands up in the air, you didnât want them to fight.
âAgatha, it would be better If you leave, I´m really sorry about this, I didnât want this to happen, but I donât want that all of you get into a fight, please, I don´t want things to get worse, I love youâ
You whispered to her, Agatha didnât want to leave you alone, but you were right, If she stayed for now, things could get really messy.
âAlright love, you know I´ll never lose you, I will fight for you, don´t forget that I love youâ You had wanted to kiss her, but you decided it wouldnât be a good idea, you nodded and with a flick of her hand she disappeared into purple smoke.
Wanda and Natasha were glaring at you, Tony and Steve were had disappointed look on their faces and Scott, well he was sitting there eating some of the cookies on the white plate.
âI- I will see you back at the towerâ You moved your hand and you disappeared.
You appeared back at the tower and you quickly took your phone out of your pocket to dial Agatha´s number.
â-Agatha, I´m so sorry, I- I didnât know they were following us, I don´t know what they will do, I´m sure they will tell me to stop seeing you, but I don´t want that, I love you and-â
-It´s alright baby girl, try to calm down a little so you can talk to them, you do not have to worry, as I told you, I will fight for you, I love you y/n- You heard noises outside the room and you knew they had arrived.
-They´re here I have to hang up, but I love you too- You quickly hung up and you heard a rushed knock on your door.
"Y/n can you come here please? Weâre worriedâ You heard Natashaâs voice behind your door.
You werenât sure if you should open the door or not, but after minutes of thinking you decided to open the door; You did it slowly and when you fully opened the door, only Natasha and Wanda came into your room, the others waited in the living room.
You went to your bed to sat down and Natasha and Wanda sat by your sides, the three of you sat there in complete silence, Wanda was looking at the floor, Natasha was looking at you and you just simply stared at your fingers.
âSheâs evilâ Wanda suddenly said after minutes of complete silence
âThatâs not true, sheâs changedâ You quickly said back at her, turning your head to face her.
âHow are you so sure?â Wanda asked with an angry look on her face, her frustration kicked in.
âBecause I know her, sheâs changed, Agathaâs not the same she used to beâ You said with tears in your eyes.
âI donât trust herâ Wanda said again
âI know, but you have to trust me, sheâs differentâ You were almost pleading at this point, you looked at her right into her eyes and you could see the anger in her eyes.
âWhere did you meet her?â Asked Natasha after some minutes of silence
âI met her at a bookstore, I kept coming back to the same bookstore and I always found her there, we hit it off and well, we started to see each other as friends at first, as I wasnât sure, but I really felt drawn to herâ You smiled at the memory of the first time you met her.
 "Sheâs Centuries older than you" Wanda hissed and this time you didnât know what to say to her.
âYou canât keep seeing herâ Wanda told you with a harsh tone, and you freaked out.
âWhat!? You canât tell me who I can and I cannot see!â You rushed to say while you stood up from your bed and glared at Wanda.
âI can, because I know this is the best for you, sheâs evilâ You were going to say something but Natasha was faster
âWandaâs right, this is the best for you, we canât trust herâ You had tears falling down your eyes and you wiped them away with your sleeve, you couldnât believe this.
âThis is not fair, Iâm an adult, I can decide who I want to dateâ You were moving your hands in the air.
âYou may be an adult but you clearly donât know how to even take care of yourself, this is not up for you to decide, you can be in danger, you could have put us in danger y/nâ Wanda said almost yelling.
âSo, this is about you? What about me? Sheâs not the same, how many times do I have to tell you? Sheâs-
"Enough! We just want to keep you safe! Canât you see that? Sheâs not good for you! What if sheâs manipulating you? Your powers are really strong and you donât know what youâre capable of, what if sheâs just taking this chance to take them away from you?â Wanda had never yelled at you, you were sure Agatha wouldnât do that, why couldnât they just see that?
âThis stays with meâ Said Wanda and you frowned you didnât understand her until she moved her hand and your phone appeared in her hand.
âGive it back to me, thatâs mineâ You came closer to her but Wanda used her powers to stop you.
âNo, you will keep talking to her, and I wonât let that happenâ Wanda argued
âThis is not fairâ You heart was breaking
âNo, whatâs not fair is that you put yourself in danger and you also couldâve put ourselves on dangerâ Wanda said with a really angry look, you looked at Natasha and she just shrugged.
âIâm sorry y/n but Wandaâs rightâ Natasha looked apologetically.
"I will drive you to college and I will pick you upâ Wanda said to you and they stood up from your bed to walk outside your bedroom.
Natasha hated to see you like this, with a heartbroken expression, they had never discussed with you and that mortified her.
âWanda, donât you think that was a little harsh, she was really upsetâ Said Natasha with a worried expression on her face
âI know it was harsh, but we donât know Agathaâs real intentions, I donât want her near y/n, I feel awful for speaking to y/n like this but, I really donât want her to end up hurt, what if Agatha kidnaps her or something! I wouldnât forgive myself if something like that happens Natâ Wanda hugged Natasha and the shorter woman rest her head on her chest.
âI donât want that something happens to y/n I love her just like you, and I want to protect her too, but I just canât stand seeing her like this, I wanted to hug herâ Tears started to fall down Natâs cheeks and Wanda quickly wiped them away.
âI know, I feel really awful but, I really want to protect her from her, I want to hug her too but, we can do it later alright? She canât be mad at us forever.â
You couldnât believe it! They had taken your phone with them, how were you supposed to talk to your girlfriend? Â You were frustrated, you were angry, but you felt sad too, they hadnât been fair to you or to Agatha but you understood why they werenât keen on her, but why couldnât they trust you? You needed a hug and you felt angrier because you wanted Agatha, Nat or Wanda to hug you, the first one you couldnât hug her for obvious reasons, and the other two, you were angry at them, you just threw yourself in your bed and covered yourself with your blankets
"Itâs been six days; six days and she hasnât talked to us Wanda!â Natasha had picked you up from college and all the ride back to the tower you didnât talk to her, you just looked through the window.
âI know Nat, but what else can we do? She hasnât talked to me yet; Iâve been trying to talk to her all week and she ignores me tooâ
âShe hasnât talked to me eitherâ Commented Steve entering the kitchen, he was worried about you just like everyone else.
âI tried to approach her two days ago and she just stared at me with a blank expression and then just she leftâ Tony said with a drink in his hand.
âAlso Peter told me that she doesnât even talk at all during lectures anymore, he told me that Mrs. Dottie asked him if there was something going on with herâ Tony said again, Natasha and Wanda were concerned, they werenât expecting this, but what scared them the most was that you looked paler each day and you looked as if you hadnât sleep at all.
âWe have to fix this; I know is my fault but-â Wanda was cut off by someone
âIs not only your fault, we all agreed on thisâ Said Steve, but Wanda couldnât help but blame herself.
âItâs alright, we will fix thisâ Natasha said while caressing her cheek with her hand.
 Wanda felt something vibrating in her pocket and she took your phone out of it, she saw a new message out of 50 messages and 45 missed calls, Wanda was surprised to see that.
âAgatha keeps sending messages to y/n and she keeps callingâ She said putting the phone on the table.
âLet me seeâ Natasha took the phone in her hands and she quickly unlocked it, without the fingerprint.
âHow did you do that?â Steve was astonished when he saw how Nat unlocked your phone without using the password or a fingerprint.
âBasic hacking skillsâ Natasha quickly answered and Tony smirked at Steveâs shocked face.
âYou wouldnât get itâ Tony said to Steve and Wanda and Nat giggled at his comment.
âWhat does the messages say?â Steve was curious at what could Agatha send you.
âWell, thereâs a lot of 'How are you feeling?â 'Are you alright doll?â 'Why arenât you answering the phone? Iâm really worried about youâ â Natasha told them and she felt bad, what if Agatha was really concerned about you?
"What if sheâs really not bad anymore?â Bruce asked while leaning against the doorframe, he really saw how much you had been affected for what had happened, every one of the others noticed how much youâve changed, the others were really worried, you didnât go to the lab to ask Bruce things about science or have a really nice conversation about theories, you hadnât gone to the library to pick books to recommend to Bucky anymore and the two of them decided to ask Natasha and Wanda what was going on with you since the two women were the ones who you were always with, so Wanda and Nat explained to them what had happened days ago.
Wanda didnât know what to do, she couldnât see you like this, but she also didnât want to trust Agatha.
They stayed there thinking on what to do until Scott arrived one hour later, he seemed to be in a rush, because when the doors of the lift opened, he quickly came looking for them.
âGuys, guys I had to run to arrive faster here, Hope took the suit away and she hid it, but thatâs not important here, I came here because I remembered that my intercom recorded everythingâ He said out breath
Scott took the device out of his jacket and he pressed play, they didnât make any type of sound, and payed attention to the recording.
âAre you alright doll? You know you can tell me everythingâ That was clearly Agathaâs voice.
â I know, itâs just that I really love spending time with you and just like the other day I told you, I feel awful about, I feel awful that we have to hide, I really wish you could come with me to the tower,  I want that they get to know the real you, I want to be able to tell Nat and Wanda how much you make me happy, I want to tell ask them many things about a relationship I want to, but I know I canâtâ Nat had to wipe some tears that had fallen down her eyes when she heard your voice.
âItâs alright baby girl, I understand everything, You donât have to feel guilty, I know that theyâre not going to take this well, and I canât blame them, After what I did, itâs understandable they wouldnât trust me, and yes I donât like at all that I have to hide your my girlfriend, I love you so much and I would love to take you to many different places, I would love to do many things with you, but I know we canât, and if that means-â
âIf that means we can keep seeing each other itâs alrightâ When Wanda heard you had finished her sentence, she remembered every time she had done the same with Nat.
âWe will fix this, Tony can you drive y/n tomorrow morning?â Natasha asked with a serious look on her face
âSure, no problemâ He answered
The next day when Tony drove you to school, you still felt hurt, you really had wanted to say goodbye to Wanda and Nat, and everyone else but in the end you didnât, you still felt betrayed.
âAlright, are you ready?â Natasha asked Wanda who was holding your phone in her hand, Wanda nodded and she called Agatha from your phone.
âHello Agatha, listen, can you come to the tower? We would like to talk to you about y/nâ
Natasha looked expectant to her when she ended the call.
âWhat did she say?â Natasha eagerly asked while she took Wanda softly by her shoulders.
âShe said she will be coming in thirty minutesâ
âAlright"Â
Agatha was worried, these six days without being able to talk to you had been pure torture to her, she had wanted to hold you so much and reassure you that everything would be alright, she even went to your college to wait for you when your classes were over, she had been excited when she saw you walking outside the building but her hopes were crushed down when she saw a car parking in front of you, she recognized Wanda inside of it and she knew, she couldnât get closer, she really wanted to but you were under constant surveillance.
But now that she had received Wandaâs call she didnât think twice, she quickly agreed to meet her at the tower, maybe she could talk to them and convince them that she really loved you
Agatha walked out of the lift and was greeted by many pair of eyes on her.
She walked to the living room where everybody was sitting in the couches, Agatha knew the name of everyone because you used to talk about them a lot and she was happy that you trusted her enough to share a lot of things with her.
Wanda was frowning and beside her was Natasha with a serious look on her face, Tony was sitting in the other couch with a drink in his hand, the man who rarely smile, your words not hers, was Bucky if she recalled correctly, Steve was sitting next to the soldier with his arms crossed and he was glaring at her.
"Come sit with usâ Said Wanda to Agatha when she lifted her head, Agatha nodded and she came closer to them, Natasha patted in the chair in front of them so that Agatha sat there.
âWhat are your intentions with y/n?â Asked Wanda glaring at Agatha
âI want to make her happyâ The blue-eyed witch said calmly
âI donât trust you!â Wanda said when Agatha finished her sentence, Agatha was shocked she hadnât even talked a lot and Wanda was already really upset.
âIâm really sorry about what I did, I just wanted more power and you didnât even know how to use your magic I-
"Now you better stop right there!-â Wanda was really upset that she even stood up from the couch pointing at Agatha with her finger, Wanda had to take her from her waist to stop her from coming closer to Agatha.
âIâm sorry alright!? Iâm truly sorry, but Iâm not that person anymore, and I understand why all of you are angry, You want to protect her from me, and thatâs completely understandable, but I really love her, I donât want to be without her, I care for y/n just as you care for her, sheâs my life, she means everything to me, please, Iâm saying the truthâ Agatha begged
âYou can use your powers on me to see that Iâm not lyingâ Agatha offered
Wanda thought about it for a moment and she decided she would do it, Wanda placed her fingers over Agathaâs temple and she saw her memories, she was able to feel what the older witch felt, and the only thing she found in Agathaâs mind related to you was pure love, Wanda realized that the witch wasnât lying, she really loved you, but still she had her doubts.
âWhat is y/nâs Favorite drink?â Asked Wanda
"What is y/n y/nâs favorite dessert?â Natasha demanded to know
"What is y/ns favorite book?â Bucky was the third one to ask something
"What is y/n favorite movie?â Steve added
âWhat is y/ns favorite restaurant?â Tony inquired with a serious look on his face
Agatha answered every question correctly and in the calmest possible way, she knew all of these things because you had told her, everyone one of the avengers were impressed, they werenât expecting that the woman in front of them would know all of that information about you.
"Please, I swear I love y/n with all my heart, and I know I made some mistakes, but I changed, and I would never hurt y/nâ
Wanda was pouting, there was really no doubt that she loved you.
âAt this point Iâm pretty sure sheâs not lying loveâ Natasha whispered in her ear and Wanda just scrunched her nose.
・ Ë ď¸śď¸śâŠď¸śď¸ś â Ë ď¸śď¸śâŠď¸śď¸ś ・Ë・ Ë ď¸śď¸śâŠď¸śď¸ś â Ë ď¸śď¸śâŠď¸śď¸ś ・Ë
âHey, why hasnât any one of you picked your phone? I called you several times from Peterâs phone because classes were cancelled due to-â
You stopped death in your tracks, Agatha was sitting in a chair in the middle of the living room with the others.
You couldnât believe it, what was she doing here?
âAgatha?â You saw how Agatha slowly nodded and she stood up from her chair to walk towards you.
You left your backpack on the floor and threw yourself at her arms.
She put her arms around your waist, her grip was firm yet soft at the same time, you could smell her perfume, the same one you had missed so much all these days.
Tears were falling from her eyes and you softly took her face in your hands, caressing her soft skin with your fingers.
âYou donât know how much Iâve missed you doll, I couldnât even sleep well, I was tempted to use my magic to appear here, but I knew everyone would be around you since the first day I went to look for you at your college and I saw Wanda picking you up, I didnât do it either because I didnât want things to get worseâ You softly wiped some of her tears away with your fingers and she leant into your touch, she had missed you so much.
âI couldnât sleep either, I wanted to know how you were feeling, but I couldnât even call you nor text you, I was desperate"Â You sobbed.
âOh angel, I was desperate tooâ Your girlfriend pulled you closer to her, feeling your body against her made her feel relieved, she was holding you again, you were alright and that was the most important thing to her, resting your head on the crook of her neck she softly pressed a kiss on your hair.
The Avengers were looking at you, they were astonished, that would have never expected the older witch to treat you in such a beautiful way.
Wanda sensed what you and Agatha were feeling, it was love, and it was strong, really strong, beautiful emotions were emanating from you and the woman hugging you, you two really loved each other in a way, Natasha and her loved each other, it was a pure love.
Wanda took Natashaâs hand in hers and the two of them nodded at each other, walking closer towards you Wanda softly cleared her voice, and the sound made you move away a little from your girlfriend, you shyly looked at Nat and Wanda in front of you
âListen, I´m sorry about what happened, I know we- I know I hurt you, but please I just wanted to protect you, I don´t trust her at all, but I can see that she really loves you just as much as you love herâ Wanda quietly apologized, Agatha smiled at you and she separated herself from you a little, she turned herself to face Natasha and Wanda, with her arm around your waist, you were beside her and she loved the feeling of touching you in front of more people.
âI understand, and I know y/n understands that too, I know you don´t trust me for what I did, but I´m willing to prove myself so that you know I would do anything for y/nâ You were smiling, finally they were having a calm conversation and they werenât yelling at each other.
âYou don´t need to be sorry, I understand that you wanted the best for me, and you did what you thought it would be the best for me, I wasnât mad at you, I just felt betrayed because you didnât trust me, but now I feel relieved, I missed you, I love you so much and not having you either, made me feel awful, I wanted to hug you too, but I didnât want to come to youâ You quickly wiped the tears away that had fallen down your eyes.
âI wanted to hug you too sweetheart, I was heartbroken, I couldnât stand seeing you so sad, and I wanted to talk to you but you didnât let meâ Natasha quickly pulled you into a hug and you leant into her, you had really missed her a lot, when she pulled away, Wanda hugged you too, you closed your eyes and rested your head on her chest, you felt a soft kiss being placed in your forehead and you smiled.
âI missed you too Wanda, a lot, I hated that we fought and I hope we never fight like this againâ You whispered into her chest.
âI assure you, we won´t, I hated the way I yelled at you I-â
âIt´s alright, seriously Wanda, I forgave all of you, because you didnât hurt me on purposeâ You interrupted her and Wanda smiled, it was really good to hug you again.
âDon´t think we won´t have an eye on you anyone Agathaâ Wanda began again
âWandaâ You said with a tired tone
âWhat?â The witch asked you with fake innocence and you felt a soft hand on your shoulder
âIt´s alright doll, it´s alright, they can keep an eye on me, it doesnât bother meâ Your girlfriend said softly.
âWe´re sorry too, about what happenedâ This time Steve was the one talking and Agatha nodded, she knew they werenât bad, they just wanted the best for you, the men sitting in the couches gave her a shy smile, and she returned the smile at them.
âSo, that means she can come to visit me?â You eagerly asked, Wanda and Nat looked at each other, and you patiently waited for an answer.
âYes, she can come to visit you, and you can visit her, but Wanda and I will be the ones to drive you, alright?â Your eyes were beaming with joy, this is what you had wanted and finally they were accepting it, you nodded and turned your face to look at Agatha, she loved to see you this happy, Natasha and Wanda were happy to see you back, with that smile you always offered to everyone.
âCan I show her the tower?â You asked Natasha and Wanda again, and they sighed, they couldnât say no to you, so they just nodded at you.
âIf you show her your room, I want the doors open alright?â Wanda asked and you laughed, you couldnât help but roll your eyes a little.
âYes, yes I will let the doors openâ You said to them and you took Agatha´s hand to guide her to your room, when you arrived to your room, you didnât close the doors at all, sitting in your bed you patted your hand on your bed next to you, Agatha sat beside you and she passed her arm around your waist, you let your head rest on her shoulder taking her free hand on yours.
âThis is great, now we can spend more time together and you can come hereâ Your excitement was visible and Agatha loved it.
âI know love, it was awful not being able to hold you during these days, I kept calling on your phone and as you didnât answer, I thought the worst, that´s why I decided to go to your collegeâ Agatha´s heart ached at the memory.
"Thatâs because Wanda took my phone away, I will ask her to give me my phone back later, I want to cuddle with you, what do you think?â You murmured into her ear.
"Thatâs an amazing idea doll, I want to hold you tightlyâ She whispered back into your ear.
Agatha and you kissed you again for the first time in days, her hand squeezing softly your waist, she had missed your lips so much.
You broke the kiss only to dragged her to the center of your bed, taking off your shoes she did the same, you took the covers and put them over the two of you when you were already lying in the middle of you comfortable bed.
You placed your head on her chest and she held you by your waist, you were going to pass a really nice evening holding each other.
âI have a question; how did you arrive here?â Now that you thought about it, you felt curious, you lifted your head to look at her beautiful blue eyes.
âWell, Wanda called me from your phone, I thought it was you, but then I heard her voice asking me to come here to talk about youâ You chuckled a little and just shook your head.
âDo you want to sleep doll?â Agatha asked knowing you hadnât rest at all.
âI want to, but I also want to spend more time with you while I´m awakeâ You yawned a little.
âIt´s alright baby girl, I will be here when you wake up, we will have more time to spend together from now onâ You knew she was right, now you wouldnât have to hide anymore, and you love the thought.
âAlright, can you wake me up in 1 hour?â You tiredly said while resting your head back again into her chest.
âOf course, dollâ She wasnât going to wake you up in an hour, she was sure you needed more time to sleep, she pressed a soft kiss on your forehead.
âI love you y/nâ Agatha whispered in your ear.
âI love you too Agathaâ You said yawning again.
You really loved that she was going to be there when you woke up.
âWhere´s y/n? We need to tell her everything that happened in our mission, she´s not going to believe what happenedâ Said Sam entering the living room with Clint by his side.
âI think you will have to wait some hours, she´s in her room with her girlfriendâ Steve commented.
âWhat?â Clint and Sam asked at the same time.
âI´ll let Nat and Wanda explain that to you, a lot of things happened while you were on the missionâ Sam and Clint blinked several times.
âAlright, we will tell you everything, it´s kind of a long story so you better take a sitâ Natasha said and she took a deep breath.
The evening was going to be full of gasps and mane questions, Wanda quickly went to your room to open the door a little bit more and what she saw made her heart melt, you were sleeping peacefully and Agatha was stroking your hair, she let the door a little open and went back to the kitchen.
âIs she alright?â Asked Natasha to her
âShe´s sleeping, she hadnât slept well, now she´s resting next to Agathaâ A smile formed on Natasha´s face, now she was sure you had another person who would protect you just like everyone of them.
It would take some time for Wanda to be able not to be too harsh on the older witch, but she knew you were in good hands, and she was grateful at least that there was another witch who would look out for you.
